Conservatives love him. Law enforcement trusts him. Taxpayers appreciate him. Arizonans are thankful for him. Criminals cringe when they meet him. Illegal aliens know their destiny when they see him. And the ACLU gets heartburn when they know they have to deal with him, that is when they feel the need to sue.

Meet Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

If you’re like me, you probably at some occasion (frequently for me) received an e-mail circulating the Internet stating how prisoners in Maricopa County are forced to wear pink underwear and provided with green bologna sandwiches for meals. And they have to perform boot camp-like work under the hot Arizona sun. And when those in Maricopa’s pokey whine about it, he reminds them what our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan have gone thru.

Liberal columnist E.J. Martini of the Arizona Republic and ACLU of Arizona director Alessandra Soler Meetze apparently don’t agree with most of us but then again, birds of a feather flock together. And these two flock in opposition to the vast majority of taxpayers in Maricopa County.

Then again, who asked them what they thought? The ACLU doesn’t care about taxpayer dollars, gladly accepting them when they win certain cases. They’re more than happy to see the citizens of Arizona pay to support the evil of abortion.

Now Mr. Arpaio is in the midst of a suit from the American Criminal Liberties Union regarding the county’s refusal to transport a gravid female prison to a killing center (AKA abortion mill) to do away with her child. Though the abortion has regretfully been performed (as Mr. Martini pointed out), the good sheriff is gladly taking on the ACLU and defending the denial of taxpayer funds for those who slaughtering unborn children repugnant.

Mr. Martini likes pointing out that Arizona tax dollars also go to provide other medical services and funerals. However, he apparently can’t distinguish necessary medical care from unnecessary “care” and the immorality that comes from child sacrifice.

For you liberals reading this as well as wishy-washy “moderates” and diehard ACLU fanatics, I don’t and won’t apologize for talking about abortion as often as I do. I will do so until I die or until it is abolished, whichever comes first. It is America’s scourge.

You see, the ACLU sued this Arizona county in October 2004 after our hero denied transporting this prisoner to nearest abortuary. As pointed out here, pregnancy is not a disease and that the “choice” of elective abortion was not appropriate.

The ACLU sees things differently but then again, what would you expect from an organization that has cozied up with Planned Parenthood and their ilk for the last 6+ decades? The ACLU has never met an abortion it didn’t like.

And we haven’t yet got to the best part – the ACLU having to deal with Sheriff Joe on his relentless pursuit of illegal aliens. If you haven’t seen it, stay near your monitor.

Now if you read the ACLU’s brief, (page 11 in Microsoft Word) you’ll find the statements that they have a problem with. However, I’ll gladly provide them here for you:

· “It’s government money and this is elective surgery. What are they going to ask for next? A nose job?” (R 29 Ex. 10 at 29:12-20.)

· “The gal may have the baby by the time it gets through the court system. But we’ll take care of them in jail like all medical conditions.” (Id. at 33:7-22.)

· Sheriff Arpaio’s 2004 campaign brochure states that he “is fighting an ACLU lawsuit that would liberalize abortion access for his inmates.” The campaign brochure further states: “For so many reasons the ACLU is wrong to force my office into being a taxi service for abortion proponents. I won’t permit it.” (Id. at 34:1-10; R 29 Ex. 16.)

· “I’m very pro-life and believe in family values. . . . I’m being sued by the Civil Liberties Union and they want me to pick up, to take my female inmates out of jail, take them to an abortion clinic, let them have an abortion, and transport them back to jail. . . . That will never happen.” (R 29 Ex. 10 at 35:12-36:3.)

Hey, this sounds like my kind of guy, how about you?

A district court struck down the law as unconstitutional; however, it is on appeal to the Arizona Court of Appeals. You can read the ACLU’s press release as well as their absurd comment that “Preventing women prisoners from getting abortions is dangerous and unjust,” by clicking here.

To paraphrase the ACLU’s language, killing unborn children in the womb is safer than a medical extraction of the child from his or her “safe harbor zone”.

Based on this piece, it appears that the appeals court is skeptical of the county’s policy and may strike it down. But Sheriff Joe is unfazed and has said he will appeal it, all the way to the Supreme Court, if necessary. It’s going to be tough, considering the ACLU sued the state of Missouri in similar fashion and was upheld by the Supreme Court, though the reverse conclusion was the result in Louisiana as Life News reported.

Citizens of Arizona and particularly Maricopa County have a lot to be thankful for with this outstanding man. Some may be troubled by the use of tax dollars to appeal this case but keep in mind it was this woman and the ACLU that started it.

Now let’s turn to the borders and see what the ACLU and this Alessandra gal have to say about Sheriff Joe and his undeterred mission to rid his county (and in the process, the state) of illegal aliens.

"While we expect local police to cooperate with federal authorities in apprehending anyone, including non-citizens, who are suspected of criminal activity, local police should not be in the business of detaining or arresting law-abiding aliens based on their immigration status.”

Here’s a 30 year old woman (maybe 31 now) who came from the Miami Herald, to assume the job of director of the ACLU of Arizona, telling a sheriff who has been on the job since 1992, elected and reelected 4X, and oversaw a recidivism rate more than 5X below the national average, how to do his business. Less than 6 months into her job, this Alessandra chick thought she could take on this truly big boy roughly twice her age.

Well, I don’t think the good sheriff paid much attention to the ACLU’s whining and claims that he was in violation of federal law on illegal immigration. Less than one month after Alessandra’s press release, a judge upheld the Arizona law she howled about and the state was sued over, a law banning human smuggling that duly elected representatives of the state legislature passed and which their governor signed.

You could say Alessandra “Meetze” her match in Sheriff Joe, or rather “met” her match, to be grammatically correct. Or better yet, the pit bull meets the organization and director that is full of bull.

If America had sheriffs across our land like Joe Arpaio, refusing to bow to the ACLU on abortion related matters with prisoners and on illegal aliens, our country would be significantly safer and securer. And the ACLU would have countless headaches on its hands.

Bottom line, I love this guy!

Anyone think he’s going to listen to the ACLU except thru a court order?

Pro-life, pro-taxpayer, anti-illegal immigration, gentle to the unborn, a drill sergeant and pit bull to criminals and illegals, and the ACLU of Arizona’s worst nightmare – what a winning combination! Too bad he didn't run against Arizona's liberal governor, Janet Napolitano, in last month's election. He could have cleaned up the state against the illegals and been a battering ram against ACLU efforts to stop him. And I'm sure he would have won handily.

Put this man as the CEO of America for 2008. We need someone like him in charge since our amnesty loving president G.W. (Guest Worker) Bush and the Democratically controlled incoming Congress are going to do everything they can to give the illegals a permanent pass to our country (over many of our dead bodies) in the 110th Congressional session. Our borders will be secured in no time. And the ACLU’s days would be numbered. And possibly the abortion industry as well. It would be a political earthquake of unprecedented proportions. And our Founding Fathers would be proud, I'm sure.

And that ain’t no bull!

Save the Cross at Mt Soledad

The parents of a Marine who died in Iraq are urging President Bush to help ensure their son continues to be memorialized under a historic cross threatened by a judge's order.

Robert and Sybil Martino want the federal park service to take over the Mt. Soledad war memorial site from the city of San Diego, which is at the center of a 17-year dispute begun by an atheist charging the cross violates the so-called "separation of church and state."

The Martinos' son, Capt. Michael Martino, was killed in action in Iraq last November when his Cobra helicopter was shot down by a Russian shoulder-mounted SA-16 surface-to-air missile.
U.S. District Judge Gordon Thompson ordered the city of San Diego May 3 to remove the mountain-top cross within 90 days or face a fine of $5,000 a day. Thompson ruled the 29-foot structure unconstitutional in 1991, but the case has remained in courts and become an issue of public policy. In a letter to Bush, the Martinos write, "Our son loved his country and the many rights and liberties it provided. … Our son died with a strong belief that he was fighting to preserve the freedom of all Americans. Please let us have OUR freedom from activist judges and their personal interpretation of our Constitution."

The Martinos also have asked military veterans Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., and Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., to approach the president.
Last month, members of the slain officer's Camp Pendleton unit, which recently returned from Iraq, dedicated a plaque at Mt. Soledad to commemorate his legacy. More than 300 fellow Marines stood in line for over three hours to pay their respects to the parents.

The Martinos expressed "the feelings of honor [they] felt at having their son memorialized for all time under the cross at Mt. Soledad."
The parents said "there is no better place on the West Coast to honor our fallen heroes than under that cross overlooking the country they fought and died to preserve."
Robert Marino, noting the cross's existence in one form or another since 1913, contends the Soledad cross "is no more an affront to personal beliefs than the thousands of crosses at Arlington."
Michael Martino, 32, was awarded posthumously a Purple Heart and promoted to the rank of Marine major. He enlisted in the Marine Corps after graduating from the University of California at San Diego.
His father characterized him "as a determined young man who was focused and always gave it his all."

ACLU fights child molester 'banishment'

The ACLU of Indiana filed the suit challenging a new city ordinance that fines child molesters caught near city playgrounds or other gathering spots for children.
Calling the ordinance passed in mid-May unconstitutionally vague, the group said it would make law-abiding citizens unwitting violators of the ordinance and hinder their ability to work, vote and worship.

The ordinance prohibits sex offenders convicted of crimes against children from coming within 1,000 feet of playgrounds, recreation centers, swimming pools, sports fields or facilities when children are around. One exception to the ban is if the offender is accompanied by an adult with no history of sex crimes.

Anyone who violates the ordinance commits an infraction punishable by progressive fines: $600 for the first violation, $1,000 for the second and $2,500 for subsequent violations within the same year.

The ordinance goes beyond a bill passed this session by the Indiana General Assembly. That law bars sex offenders from living within 1,000 feet of a public park, school or youth programs center.

Supporters of the local measure say it is necessary to safeguard society's most vulnerable.
"You see all the stories almost every day about a child falling victim to a molester," Democratic City-County Councilman Vernon Brown said. He said this was one of the few things the council could do to save at least one child "from that horror."

According to Doug Gosser, of the Indiana Sheriff's Association, between 6,000 and 7,000 people are on the Indiana Sheriff's Association's Sex Offender Registry. He said the registry database does not break down how many of the offenders abused children.

Ken Falk, the ACLU of Indiana's legal director, said the city ordinance effectively restores the long-discarded, punitive practice of "banishment," because it is virtually impossible to travel the streets and highways of Marion County without passing within 1,000 feet of a public playground or other prohibited site.
Drive on I-65 and you pass the Velodrome and a skate park, Falk said. "You can't get from point A to point B in Indianapolis without being in violation."
The suit gives anonymous examples of former offenders who would be hurt by the ordinance.
There's the man who received counseling and was awarded joint custody of his son, now 7 years old. The pair frequently visits parks and other recreational centers. Because the man is employed at a place within 1,000 feet of a park, he would breach the ordinance by going to work, the suit says.

Another man votes at a public school within range of a sports field. Because he is not eligible to cast an absentee ballot, the new restrictions would keep him from voting, the suit says.
Falk said that even the ordinance's exemption -- lifting the restrictions if the former offender is accompanied by an adult with no record of sex crimes -- is problematic.
Falk said the term "accompanied" is not defined in the ordinance. "If you're within five feet, if you're within 10 feet, if you go with someone and they have to go to the bathroom, do you have to go to the bathroom with them?" he asked.

Democratic Councilman Greg Bowes, one of two council members who opposed the ordinance, also questions the practicality of enforcing the law and thinks it does little to protect children.
Many child molesters abuse children in their families or other children they know -- not strangers, he said.

Though it's every parent's worst nightmare, "we don't have that much trouble of people grabbing children out of parks."

Was Jesus Married?

One of the most amazing claims of The Da Vinci Code is that Jesus married Mary Magdalene, and she then became the most important of the apostles. If this is true, then the New Testament cannot be trusted, and its entire inspiration is in question.

There can be no serious question about the marital status of Jesus. The canonical gospels, (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) preclude any option of understanding Jesus as married. He operates as an unmarried teacher with a band of devoted disciples. He is not the head of a household, but builds a household of faith--the church. At the crucifixion, he assigns John responsibility for caring for Mary, his mother. There is no mention of any wife, certainly no mention of children.

This is no problem for Dan Brown and others who promote their invented Christology. According to Brown and author Margaret Starbird, Jesus not only married Mary Magdalene, but also fathered a child who became the head of the Merovingian royal dynasty.

So, how can Brown and others promote this theory? Simply by asserting that the marital status of Jesus was hidden by Christian leaders by means of a vast conspiracy. This conspiracy, we are told, explains the absence of any mention of Jesus' marriage in the New Testament and the church's denial of any such suggestion throughout its history. What evidence would Brown and Starbird produce in order to buttress their case?

Starbird points to Jesus' instruction to Mary Magdalene after his resurrection, as recorded in John's gospel. When Jesus tells Mary not to touch Him, Starbird claims that this actually means, "do not cling to me," which is further asserted to mean that they were married. As Vargas explains by means of a question: "and that kind of embrace would have been unusual if it were not between a man and a woman, husband and wife?"

Darrell Bock, professor of New Testament at Dallas Theological Seminary, countered Starbird's assertion. "Its just her single act of devotion," Bock explained, "given to him without concern about what people are thinking about what she's doing." Vargas then conceded that the majority of biblical scholars consulted for the program agreed with Professor Bock's assessment. Nevertheless, don't count that as a complete loss, for she did find one biblical scholar who thought that the scene in the garden might "point to an intimate relationship between Mary Magdalene and Jesus.

"Father Richard McBrien of the University of Notre Dame quickly confirmed that if Jesus had married, it would have been to Mary Magdalene. "If he was married, it was obviously...oh, yeah, it was obviously Mary Magdalene." Father McBrien evidently confuses romance novels with the New Testament.

One of the central arguments found in The Da Vinci Code is that certain leading figures in history have always known the truth. The "Priory of Sion," asserted to be a cabal of the illuminated ones, is central to Brown's plot. The Priory is claimed to involve a host of luminaries from European history including, of course, Leonardo Da Vinci. According to Brown's thesis, Da Vinci hid hints of Jesus' marriage in works of art such as his famous masterpiece, "The Last Supper." Brown argues that one of the figures in the fresco standing next to Jesus isn't a man at all, but Mary Magdalene.

Jack Wasserman of Temple University isn't buying that argument. A prominent art historian, Wasserman simply countered that the figure doesn't even look like a woman, once we understand the artistic style of the era

.As a matter of fact, art historians have poked holes in most of Dan Brown's interpretations found in The Da Vinci Code. Of course, if you are promoting a conspiracy theory, you just make this part of the conspiracy. When Elizabeth Vargas asked Dan Brown why so many art historians dismiss his theories "as absolutely bizarre and crazy," Brown explained: "I think its because we see what we've been told we see." Oh, now we see. Instead of seeing what we've been told we should see, we should now see what Dan Brown wants us to see. See?

The most fascinating insights revealed in the "Prime Time Monday" broadcast had actually very little to do with The Da Vinci Code itself. Of far greater interest to thinking Christians were the arguments made by liberal theologians and divinity school professors that directly attacked the truthfulness of the Bible. This is, of course, of much greater concern than the interpretation of Leonardo Da Vinci's masterpieces.

In introducing this material, Vargas argued: "If you look at the Christian Bible, it's clear that there are large holes in the stories we have about the life of Jesus. The church chose four gospels that tell his story in the New Testament. But there were other stories written about Jesus, other gospels so controversial the Church ordered them destroyed. And they were, except for one set of copies. And it remained hidden in Egypt until about fifty years ago."

Ah ha! The conspiracy deepens.

Vargas' hyped introduction referred to the Nag Hammadi scrolls found around the time of World War II. These Gnostic gospels were heretical accounts of the life and ministry of Jesus. Early Christians were aware of these spurious writings and rightly rejected them as sub-biblical and erroneous.

Of course, Dan Brown and company are now ready to tout the Gnostic gospels as even more reliable than the New Testament. These documents and fragments are not older than the canonical Gospels, as is often claimed. They are examples of the false gospels that were recognized as such by the early church.

Father Richard McBrien, well known as a liberal Roman Catholic academic, is ready to elevate Mary Magdalene to the status of an apostle. As he claimed, "She really was every bit as much an apostle, a companion, spokesperson for Jesus and his gospel as any of the men were." Of course, this assertion denies the official teaching of the Roman Catholic Church and the consensus of all branches of Christianity throughout the last two thousand years.

Karen King of the Harvard Divinity School argues that the denial of Jesus' marital status and the marginalization of Mary Magdalene are the result of a male conspiracy to deny the equality of women and the rightful place of female leadership in the church. Of course, since she sees Christianity as something that human beings have made, she would now call for the church to remake itself in a way more to her liking.

"Sometimes religion is presented as something that's fixed and stable," King explained, "where you have to accept it or reject it." But, as you might now suspect, professor King does not see Christianity as anything fixed or stable. To the contrary, as she asserted: "But the fact is that religious traditions, and certainly Christianity among them, is very diverse, very filled with possibilities. And we need to take responsibility for the kind of religion we make.

"That final sentence is a quintessential statement of liberal theology. According to professors like Karen King, we "make up" Christianity as we go along. Now, informed by feminism and New Age spirituality, we can remake Christianity and leave behind all that tired, stale, orthodoxy that has been handed down to us.

The evidence against these revisionist forms of Christianity is massive. Belief in the veracity and historical credibility of the New Testament is the great dividing line between Christianity and this new religion posing as Christianity. According to John 3:16, Jesus is "the only begotten" Son of God. He came to redeem sinners by His atoning death and resurrection in order that we might become adopted as the sons and daughters of God. Jesus Christ did not marry and did not beget any children of the flesh. Through faith, we become the sons and daughters of God through Christ's accomplished work of salvation.

All these revisionist versions of Christianity are rejections of the Gospel handed down from the apostles and honored by faithful Christians in every generation. Dan Brown has written a suspense thriller that ABC News has taken as a serious historical argument. They were able to find a host of liberal enablers to help push the case and hype the story. But, in the end, we have to choose between the Christ of the New Testament and the Christ of The Da Vinci Code.Check it out for yourself, and read the New Testament. Truth is far more interesting than fiction. The mythical Christ of The Da Vinci Code is no match for the authentic Christ of the Bible.

Do you know what the message of the Bible is?

It tells us that God is good by nature, and because of His goodness He will make sure that justice is eventually done. For example, there were more than 150,000 unsolved murders in the U.S. during the last 20 years — however, those unpunished murderers will receive justice by being sent to God's "prison" — a place called "Hell." But God is so good He will also punish rapists, thieves, liars, adulterers, blasphemers, and fornicators (those who have had sex before marriage).

How will you do on Judgment Day? Ask yourself a few questions: Have you ever lied (even once) or stolen (regardless of value)? Have you ever used God’s name in vain, or had sexual thoughts about someone to whom you are not married? Have you ever hated someone? The shocking truth is that if you said yes to those questions, on Judgment Day God will see you as a lying thief . . . a blasphemer . . . an adulterer . . . and even a murderer. Jesus said, "Whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart," and Scripture also says that if you hate someone, you are a murderer.

This is the Bible’s warning — if God gives you justice on Judgment Day, you will end up in Hell. However, God is rich in mercy, and He made a way for you to be forgiven: "God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Jesus suffered and died on the cross, taking the punishment for your sins. Then He rose from the dead and defeated death. If you repent and trust in Jesus, God will forgive you and grant you eternal life. Then read the Bible daily and obey what you read (see John 14:21).

If you choose to ignore the Bible's warning, and instead believe the fantasies of The Da Vinci Code, then be aware that you have joined the "Elvis is Alive!" crowd. You've included yourself in the ranks of the wide-eyed and faithful tabloid customers. The choice, however, is yours. It's your eternity. So think it through carefully. There's nothing more important than where you spend eternity.

This is an important question, isn't it?

If You Want to Answer it Correctly Then You Must Think About Several Things

Be sure that you know what God is like. God created you and is your rightful owner. God is loving, merciful, and kind. But we often do not think about the fact that God is holy. The Bible says that "God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all." (1 John 1:5) This means that God is perfectly holy. God always does what is right, and His laws are perfect. God never makes a mistake. God never approves of or ignores evil. Because God is holy, He hates all sin. (Psalm 5:5) Anything that is sinful or wrong cannot even come near God -- it would be burned away by His holiness. The Bible says that God is "of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity." (Habakkuk 1:13; "iniquity" is another word for "sin"). God is so holy that the Bible compares Him to a consuming fire. (Hebrews 12:28-29)

God's holiness is an awesome thing. The Bible says, "who shall not fear Thee, O Lord, and glorify Thy name? For thou only art holy." (Revelation 15:4) This pure, holy God who hates sin is your Judge. The Bible says, "Who is able to stand before this holy Lord God?" (1 Samuel 6:20)

God's holiness is the opposite of our sinfulness.

Everybody admits that they are not perfect. We all know that we have done some bad things in our lifetime. But most people do not understand what the Bible teaches about sin.

What is sin?

The Bible says that "Sin is the transgression of the law." (1 John 3:4). In other words, sin is rejecting or disobeying God's laws. We sin any time we do not do what God wants us to do. If we disobey God's laws, then we sin. If we fail to do the good things God commands us to do, then we sin. Some people think sin is only really horrible things like murder, adultery, getting drunk, or robbing a store. These are sins, but the Bible says that we sin when we disobey any of God's laws. The Bible also says that our attitudes and thoughts can be sinful -- so things like pride, lust, selfishness, greed, and hatred are sins, too.

Here are a Few of God's Laws Have You Broken Any of Them?

"Thou shalt love the Lord, thy God, with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind." (Matthew 22:37) This means that God must be the most important thing in your life.

"Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself." (Matthew 22:39) This means that it is not enough to put up with other people. God commands us to love them.

"Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain." (Exodus 20:7) This means that we cannot use God's name in a joking way or to curse with.

"Thou shalt not steal." (Exodus 20:15) Even stealing little things is a sin.

"Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor." (Exodus 20:16) Telling lies and deceiving people are sins.

"Ye have heard that it was said by them of old, Thou shalt not kill and whosoever shall kill will be in danger of judgment; but I say unto you that whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of judgment." (Matthew 5:21-22) This means that feeling hatred or strong anger toward someone is usually a sin.

"Ye have heard that it was said by them of old, Thou shalt not commit adultery; but I say unto you that whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart." (Matthew 5:27-28) This means that lust is a sin.

If you did one sin every day, in ten years that would add up to 3,650 sins. In forty years, you would be guilty of 14,600 sins. And this is if you did only one sin a day!

This is why the Bible says that "all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23) The Bible also says "there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good and sinneth not." (Ecclesiastes 7:20) Is there such a thing as a righteous man who never sins? The Bible says, "If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar." (1 John 1:10) It is true that no one is perfect. But the Bible teaches that we are not even close to being perfect! All of us have broken God's laws many, many times. All of us are guilty sinners.

Stop and think for a moment. How many sins have you done in your lifetime so far? 100? 1,000? 10,000? More than that?

WHY DO WE SIN SO MUCH?

The Bible says we sin over and over again because we have a sinful heart (or, as some people call it, a sinful nature).

Just like it is the nature of a fish to swim and it is the nature of a bird to fly, it is the nature of a human to disobey God and reject His laws. This is the source of our sin problem. Deep down inside our heart, we really want to sin. We like to sin. That is why we do it so much. "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?" (Jeremiah 17:9) Have you ever noticed that you do not have to teach a child how to lie or how to be selfish? They will do that on their own! That is because we are all born with a sinful heart. The Bible says that our sins (things like evil thoughts, lying, stealing, cursing, greed, lust, and pride) come "from within, out of the heart of men." (Mark 7:21-22)

Because we have a sinful heart, we refuse to let God be the Boss of our lives. We do not want anyone -- including God -- telling us what to do. We want to live our life the way we want to. We want to be the boss of our lives. We might believe in God, and we might even go to church or get baptized or sing songs about God, but we do not want Him to run our life. Either we do not want to obey God, or we will only obey God when it is easy. We do not care about God. We all have this attitude, and it comes from our sinful heart.

God created us and is our rightful owner. He demands that we love Him, obey Him, and live the way that He wants us to live. It is a serious sin if we will not let God be the Boss of our lives and if we insist on running our lives the way we want to. If we say, "God, You won't be my Boss! You won't tell me what to do! I'll do whatever I want to with my life, and I'll live my life the way I please!", isn't this just as serious as slapping God in His face?

Because God is Holy He Must Judge All Sin

God cannot ignore our sins or pretend like our sins never happened. Because we have broken God's laws, we deserve God's punishment. Look at these Bible verses:

"The Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ; who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord." (2 Thessalonians 1:7-9)

"God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day." (Psalm 7:11)

"The soul that sinneth, it shall die." (Ezekiel 18:4)

"The wages of sin is death." (Romans 6:23)

A holy God must judge sin. If God allowed our sin to go unpunished, He would be saying that sin is okay. God will punish all sin because He is a God of justice.

We all know that this is fair. What if a murderer stood before a human judge and the judge knew that the murderer was guilty. What would you think if the judge just let the murderer go free? He would not be a very good judge, would he? He would be a bad judge! A good judge must punish people who are guilty -- he cannot just forget or ignore their crimes. In the same way, a holy God must judge all sin. When God punishes people for their sins, He is only giving them what they deserve.

The Bible says "it is appointed unto man once to die, but after this the judgment." (Hebrews 9:27) You will stand before God one day. You have broken God's laws many times. You deserve God's punishment. The Bible uses the word "wrath" (which means "anger") to describe God's punishment. "The wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men." (Romans 1:18) "The day of the Lord cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate; and He shall destroy the sinners out of it." (Isaiah 13:9) When you disobey God and reject His laws, the Bible says you "treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God." (Romans 2:5)

Here Are Some Common Mistakes That People Make About Heaven

Some think, "Yes, I have sinned, but I've done many good things in my life. My good deeds will make up for my bad deeds. I'm good enough to get into Heaven." This kind of thinking is wrong. The Bible never says that good deeds can pay for sins. Only the shedding of blood takes away sins. (Hebrews 9:22) The Bible says "all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags." (Isaiah 64:6) This means that our good deeds are not very good when we compare them to God's holiness. Our good deeds still come out of a sinful heart that refuses to let God be our Boss. That is why they are not better than "filthy rags." When the Bible says "a man is not justified by the works of the law," (Galatians 2:16) it means that our good deeds or good works can never take away our sins and get us into Heaven.

Some think, "I'm not really bad. I'm not as bad as some people. So God won't judge me too hard. I'm good enough to get into Heaven." But God does not judge based on how we compare to other people. He judges by how we compare to His perfect standards of holiness. Maybe you are more kind or more honest or more religious than most people, but that does not matter. God will punish all sin. You need to ask yourself: Have I broken God's laws? Have I refused to let God be the Boss of my life? What do my sins and disobedience deserve?

Some think, "I'm doing the best I can. God will let me into Heaven because I'm doing my very best. And I'm going to try harder." The Bible never says that God will let you into Heaven if you do the best you can or if you try harder. Doing your best and trying harder can never take away sins. But have you really done the best you can? Do you always love God with all your heart? Do you serve God as much as you should? Do you do all the good things that you know you should do? None of us have done our very best!

Many think they are saved because they belong to a certain church, because they were baptized, because they attend church regularly, because they pray, or because they have had religious feelings. The Bible does not teach this. Things that we do, like joining a church or getting baptized can never take away our sins. Only God can take away sins!

You understand sin and God's holiness correctly when you realize that you can never be good enough to deserve to get into Heaven.

King David was a man in the Bible that God was pleased with. David knew that he was a sinful man. (See Psalm 51) David also knew that God is a holy Judge who hates sin. David prayed, "Enter not into judgment with Thy servant; for in Thy sight shall no man living be justified." (Psalm 143:2) David knew that he would be in big trouble if God judged him for his sins and gave him what he deserved. "If Thou, Lord, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?" (Psalm 130:3)

Your sins are so many, and God is so holy, that you could never be good enough to get into Heaven. You can never earn or deserve God's forgiveness. There is nothing you can do to get into Heaven because you cannot erase or get rid of your sins. You have broken God's laws many times. You have refused to let God be the Boss of your life. Because of your sins, God's wrath is upon you. You are in big trouble! If you ever stand before God and He judges you for your sins, you will get what you deserve: everlasting punishment in Hell.

Has the fact that you have disobeyed God many times ever really bothered you?

These are important questions because you can only come to the Lord Jesus Christ for forgiveness if you know that you are a guilty sinner. Jesus said, "They that are whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance." (Luke 5:31-32; see also Luke 18:9-14) Jesus is saying that you must realize how serious your sin problem is before you can be forgiven. If you are not convinced that you are a guilty, lost sinner, then Jesus will not forgive you.

God Himself Made a Way For Our Sins to be Forgiven

God's Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, came to earth 2,000 years ago. Jesus was both God and man at the same time. Jesus did many miracles while on earth. He taught us how God expects us to live. Jesus never sinned and always obeyed all God's laws perfectly. Most importantly, Jesus came to earth to die for our sins.

Jesus Christ was nailed to a cross and crucified. As the Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross, the sins of all God's people were put on Him. Jesus Christ bore or carried our sins in His body. The Bible says that "He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities ... and the Lord hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all." (Isaiah 53:5-6; "iniquity" means "sin") The Lord Jesus "His own self bore our sins in His own body on the tree." (1 Peter 2:24, Galatians 1:3-4)

As Jesus hung on that cross, God poured out His holy punishment for sin on Him. Jesus did not deserve that punishment because He never broke God's laws. But He was carrying our sins, and God gave Jesus Christ the punishment that we deserved. He became our Substitute who died in our place. Jesus Christ paid the penalty for all the sins ever committed by God's people. "Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God." (1 Peter 3:18)

This proves how much God loves us. The Bible says, "God commendeth His love toward us in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8; "commendeth" means "demonstrates" or "proves")

Jesus's death was a sacrifice for our sins. Because Jesus is God, His sacrifice was big enough to fully pay for all those sins. Jesus did not just pay for some sins -- He paid for all the sins of God's people. Jesus Christ satisfied the demands of God's holiness and justice. That is why the Bible says that Jesus "taketh away the sin of the world," that Jesus "shall save His people from their sins," and that Jesus is "able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him." (John 1:29, Matthew 1:21, Hebrews 7:25)

Jesus did not stay dead. God raised Him back to life, proving that Jesus fully paid for all the sins of God's pelple. He then returned to Heaven. The Lord Jesus Christ will come back to earth some day to judge the world. Though we cannot see Him, Jesus Christ is alive today. He is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. (Revelation 19:16) The Lord Jesus Christ today has all power in Heaven and earth. (Matthew 28:18) The Bible says that "Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that He might be Lord both of the dead and living." (Romans 14:9) Lord means Master, Boss, or Owner. Jesus Christ is our Savior, but He is also our Lord. "God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow ... and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God, the Father." (Philippians 2:9-11) People today who disobey, ignore, or reject Jesus Christ are rebelling against the Lord and Ruler of the Universe! You must bow before Jesus and give Him your whole life!

Do you remember the two parts to our sin problem? First, we have done many sinful things. Second, we have a sinful heart or nature that causes us to keep on sinning. The Lord Jesus Christ takes care of both parts of our sin problem. This is what the Bible means by "being saved" or "salvation." It is true that God saves people from Hell, but being saved also means being freed or rescued from living a life of sin.

First, all your sins can be forgiven. Because God fully punished sin when He poured out His punishment on Jesus Christ, there is no need to punish sin again. That is a debt or a bill that is already paid. "The blood of Jesus Christ, His Son, cleanseth us from all sin." (1 John 1:7) Second, the Lord Jesus can change your sinful heart. This change makes you want to live a holy life -- you do not want to sin and you want to please God in everything you do. Jesus can make you into a new person! This is why the Bible says the "if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Coming to Jesus Christ to be rescued from your sins produces big changes. All your sins are forgiven. You receive a new heart. God accepts you as a child in his family and becomes a Father to you. You are justified, or declared righteous, in God's sight. It is like starting your life all over again -- or, as the Bible says, being born again. Jesus said, "Ye must be born again." (John 3:7)

Has your sin problem been taken care of by the Lord Jesus Christ? Do you know that you are totally forgiven of all your sins?

There is nothing that you can do to have your sins forgiven and to receive a new heart. You do not earn God's forgiveness by being good. The Bible teaches that God gives this as a gift to guilty, undeserving sinners like you and me. Being saved or rescued from your sins requires God's grace. Grace means "blessing or gifts that someone does not deserve." The Bible says, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God -- not of works, lest any man should boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9) It also says that through Jesus Christ "we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace." (Ephesians 1:7) The Bible also says that we are "justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus." (Romans 3:24; "justified" means "declared right with God") How does someone become a Christian? Only through God's grace.

The Bible says there are two conditions we must meet to receive this grace.

We Must REPENT of Our Sins

God "now commandeth all men everywhere to repent." (Acts 17:30) The Lord Jesus Christ said, "except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." (Luke 13:3,5) "Repent" means to be so sorry for your sins that you stop doing them. When you repent, you realize that your sins are evil and you feel bad about them. (2 Corinthians 7:10-11) Someone who repents hates their sins; they do not keep on doing them! When you repent, you must make two turns: you must turn away from your sins and you must turn to the Lord Jesus Christ to obey Him. Our biggest sin is that we do not want God to be the Boss of our life. To repent means to turn around and go the opposite way: we now make the Lord Jesus the Boss of our life and we live the way He wants us to.

Is there some sin in your life that you will not give up? Repenting is a matter of ALL or NOTHING. If you will not stop doing your sins, then you cannot be forgiven. God only saves people who really repent.

Jesus said, "If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me." (Matthew 16:24) This is what repentance is: we say "no" to our old way of living and our sins, and we follow Jesus Christ. Our old life of disobeying God is over.

Do you feel so sorry for your sins that you will stop doing them?

We Must Have FAITH in the Lord Jesus Christ

"Being justified by faith, we have peace with God, through our Lord Jesus Christ." (Romans 5:1) You must believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that He died on the cross to rescue people from their sins, and that His death on the cross completely pays for sin. You must believe that Jesus Christ has the power to save you from your sins. You must trust the Lord Jesus Christ to take away your sins and change your heart.

When you sit in a chair, you trust that chair to hold you up. You prove you have that trust when you put your full weight on the chair. If you sit on the chair but hold on to something else, then you prove that you do not really trust the chair. In the same way, you must trust or put your full weight on the Lord Jesus Christ. You must rely on Him and Him alone for the forgiveness of your sins. If you think that God will let you into Heaven because you were baptized, or because you belong to a certain church, or because you are living a good life, then you are not really trusting Jesus Christ. All your hope must be in Him. You cannot hold on to anything else.

It is not enough to believe the facts about Jesus Christ. The devil believes all the facts about Jesus Christ, but he is not forgiven. (James 2:19) What is the difference between the Devil's faith and the faith that results in salvation? Real faith is always mixed with repentance Real faith means you surrender to Jesus Christ. If you have real faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, then you will love Him, you will obey Him, and you will live the way He wants you to live.

Some years ago, a preacher talked with a young girl about giving her life to the Lord Jesus Christ. The girl admitted that she was not a Christian but said that she wanted to become one. The man asked her, "Why do you want to be saved?" The girl answered, "Please, sir, I don't want to live a life of sin." That girl had the attitude of a person who is ready to be saved: they do not want to disobey God any longer.

If you have ever had a checking account, you know what a "blank check" is. Signing a "blank check" is dangerous, isn't it? If you sign a check but do not fill in the amount, someone else can fill in any amount they want to (and it might be all the money you have!) Repenting of your sins and having faith in Jesus Christ is like giving God a "blank check" with your life. You say, "God, You take my whole life. I will do whatever You want me to do. You are my Boss from now on." That is what real faith is!

God's forgiveness is a free gift. If you repent and have faith in Christ, however, you will have to change many things. The first thing the Apostle Paul said after God saved him was "Lord, what wilt Thou have me to do?" (Acts 9:6) If God saves you, that will be your attitude. You will have to give up things you have done all your life and begin doing things that you have never done. You must live your life the way God wants you to, which means you must live according to His rules. (Hebrews 12:14, 1 Peter 1:15-16) You must find a church where the Bible is taught and be a faithful part of that church. (Hebrews 10:25, 1 John 3:14) Friends and family members may laugh at you. Being a real Christian is not easy. Jesus Christ said that coming to Him will cost a great deal. He said, "Whosoever he is of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, cannot be My disciple." Before you come to Christ, you must "count the cost" -- be sure you are willing to stick it out! (Luke 14:25-33) This is what true faith includes. But it is worth it because the Lord Jesus Christ is worth it. Jesus is worthy of all you could ever give Him. Jesus Christ deserves your whole life.

Will you repent of your sins?

Will you have faith in Jesus Christ?

Will you give God a "blank check" with your life?

Being saved from your sin is something between you and the Lord Jesus Christ. No church or preacher can save you. You will have to talk to Jesus Christ yourself. There are no "magic words" or special prayers that you should pray. You must seriously, honestly cry out to the Lord Jesus Christ. You cannot see Him, but he is alive today and hears you. Jesus Christ has all power in Heaven and earth; He (and He alone) has the power to save you from your sins!

If you are serious, you can be sure that the Lord Jesus Christ will hear you. The Bible says "whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13) The Lord Jesus Christ said, "All that the Father giveth Me shall come to Me; and him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out." (John 6:37; "in no wise" means "by no means" or "never")

If You Reject Jesus as Your Lord and Savior Then You Will One Day Face Him as your Judge

We will all die one day and stand before God. The Bible says that God's wrath or anger is upon those people who refuse to obey the Lord Jesus Christ and refuse to trust Him for the forgiveness of sins. (John 3:36) Those people will face an everlasting punishment in Hell. (Revelation 20:11-15, 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9) God's people -- those who repent of their sins and trust the Lord Jesus Christ -- will live forever with God in His holy Heaven. (Revelation 21:1-22) But everyone will live forever in either Heaven or Hell.

What would happen if you died tonight and stood before God for Judgment?

If God judged you for your sins, where would you spend eternity?

Nearly 3,000 years ago, God said, "Ye shall seek Me, and find Me, when ye shall search for Me with all your heart." (Jeremiah 29:13) That is a great promise! If we really search for the Lord with all our heart -- if we are really serious -- then we will find Him. But if we do not search for Him with all our heart -- if we are not serious -- then we will not find Him.

Isn't it time you really got serious about God?

If you believe that God is real, then shouldn't He be the most important thing in your life?

Few things in this world are really a matter of life and death. Your relationship with God is that serious. Today is the day that you need to repent of your sins and trust Christ to save you. You may not have tomorrow.

How Can I Know if I am a Christian Already?

Religious feelings and miraculous experiences are not enough. Walking the aisle and shaking the pastor's hand does not make someone a Christian. Many people who have been baptized are not real Christians. Membership in the best church in the world does not make someone a Christian. "Praying through" on a mourner's bench does not necessarily mean that you are saved. You can know many things about the Bible and not be a Christian.

The Bible tells us how we can know whether or not we are really saved. The book of 1 John contains several "tests" that show whether God has truly saved someone or not.

Here are a few of the Bible's tests:

"By this we do know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He that saith, "I know Him, and keepeth not His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him." (1 John 2:3-4)

Real Christians keep the Lord's commandments. Of course, Christians do sin. But real Christians are determined to obey God in all areas of their life. People who are not Christians frequently disobey God. They often do not care about God's commandments.

"For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments: and His commandments are not grievous." (1 John 5:3; "grievous" means "burdensome" or "difficult")

Real Christians want to obey God. They enjoy obeying God. People who are not saved find it very difficult to obey the Lord's commands.

"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him." (1 John 2:15)

Real Christians live for the future world, not this one. They reject many things that this world does. People who are not Christians find it very hard to give up the joys and pleasures of this world. When given a choice, non-Christians choose the world instead of the things that God approves of.

"He that doeth the will of God abideth forever." (1 John 2:17)

Real Christians do or obey God's will, which means that God is the Boss of their life. People who are not Christians are their own bosses and they run their own lives. People who are lost often disobey God's will or simply do not care about God's will.

"He that doeth righteousness is righteous .... He that committeth sin is of the devil ... whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin .. whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God." (1 John 3:7-10)

Real Christians do righteous things over and over again. The pattern of his life is one of holiness. Someone who is not a Christian does wrong things over and over again. The pattern of his life is one of disobedience to God's laws.

"We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren." (1 John 3:14)

Real Christians love other Christians. That is why real Christians are always faithful members of their local church. Christians enjoy being with other Christians, so they see going to church as a privilege and not a duty. Non-Christians either do not attend church or go to church only once in a while.

"By this we know that He abideth in us, by the Spirit whom He hath given us." (1 John 3:24)

Real Christians have the Holy Spirit living in them. This is why they find spiritual things interesting and they enjoy studying the Bible. People who are not saved do not have the Holy Spirit. The Bible is often boring to them and hard to understand.

"Whatever is born of God overcommeth the World." (1 John 5:4)

Real Christians have victory over sin. They can break bad habits and see real change in their life as they pursue holiness. People who are not Christians often cannot break bad habits.

Do You Pass These Tests?

Be honest. If you do not pass these Bible tests, then you probably are not a Christian and have never been saved. Jesus said there will be many on the Day of Judgment who think they are Christians but are not. He said, "Not every one that saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he that doeth the will of My Father, Who is in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Thy name? And in Thy name have cast out devils? And in Thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you; depart from Me, ye that work iniquity." (Matthew 7:21-23) What is the mark of someone who is really saved? Jesus said that he "doeth the will of My Father , who is in Heaven." In other words, he obeys God and lives a life that is pleasing to God.

Make sure that you really are a Christian!

The recent rulings from the 2nd & 9th Circuit Court of Appeals to strike down "The Partial Birth Abortion Act of 2003" as unconstitutional shows, perhaps more than any other decision in American history, how culturally depraved and uncivilized this nation really is to call such a "procedure" legal. And besides the pro-abortion organizations like NOW, NARAL and the National Abortion Federation, no group shows its true colors on abortion more than the ACLU.In its January 31st web site press release, the ACLU's main heading goes: ACLU and National Abortion Federation Hail Two Appeals Court Rulings Holding Federal Abortion Ban Unconstitutional (http://www.aclu.org/reproductiverights/abortionbans/24004prs20060131.html).

To show its love for abortion, the ACLU uses the word "hail." According to Webster's Collegiate Dictionary, "hail" is defined in this sense as "to greet with enthusiastic approval; acclaim."Frankly speaking, to "hail" or enthusiastically support a procedure that even many abortion backers believe is repugnant and abhorrent is downright chilling. One such person is Frances Kissling, director of the maverick pro-abortion group "Catholics for a Free Choice." While staunchly support a woman's so-called "right to choose," Ms. Kissling has come out, if only modestly, in favor of parental notification for teens, fetal ultrasounds, fetal pain awareness and a ban on partial birth abortion. She even took it upon herself to criticize her friends at Planned Parenthood for coming out with "I had an abortion" T-shirts and "Choice on Earth" cards.Such statements reflect at least a modicum of respect for the unborn child and the pregnant mom.

Not so with the ACLU and their allies.It's also notable that at the bottom of the ACLU's press release, just as it appears on many of their web pages, their mission statement (if it can called that) says "The ACLU is our nation's guardian of liberty, working daily in courts, legislatures and communities to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties guaranteed to every person in this country by the Constitution and laws of the United States."If the ACLU really wanted to be honest about what their organization really is about, it would insert the word "born" before "every person" or more appropriately "excluding unborn babies" at the end of "United States.

"The ACLU, like most of the far left liberal pro-abortion organizations in America, claims they would support legislation that includes a health exception. This has been debunked by both liberal and conservative legal scholars, medical groups and doctors, saying a health exception is never necessary in the case of a partial birth abortion or that a health exception is so broad it could essentially mean anything and render the ban meaningless.However, if such a ban were enacted by Congress and passed into law, one would have to really wonder if the ACLU would support it, considering they have a no restriction policy on abortion at any time during a woman's pregnancy.According to the book ACLU vs. America, the ACLU issued a press release in March 2002 at the National Day of Appreciation for Abortion Providers, saying "We must change the climate overall from one where abortion providers are vilified and assaulted to one where they are honored and upheld as the heroes they are.""Doctors" who brutally and barbarically (and legally) kill an unborn child inches from leaving the birth canal are heroes? Only the abortion industry and the ACLU could make such claims.We have to remember this ACLU is the same ACLU that essentially ordered the courts of Florida to kill Terri Schiavo last year in the name of privacy for her then husband Michael, saying that Gov. Bush's and the Florida legislature's decision to get involved and have Terri's feeding tube reinserted with treatment was a "dangerous abuse of power."A dangerous abuse of power to save a disabled woman's life with many unanswered questions surrounding her condition (before her starvation death)?

What about the ACLU's mission statement "The ACLU is our nation's guardian of liberty, working daily in courts, legislatures and communities to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties guaranteed to every person in this country by the Constitution and laws of the United States"?Perhaps in the case of Terri and others, we should modify the ACLU's statement by also adding the term "non-disabled" between the words "every person" to make it accurate.To further demonstrate its love for death, the ACLU filed a brief in favor of Oregon's assisted suicide law (recently upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court), saying "we believe that the individuals eligible for the Death with Dignity Act have a liberty, privacy and dignity right to physician-assisted suicide protected by the 14th amendment."Funny, no matter how I try, I can't think of any death as dignifying. To me, the closest thing to would be dying in your sleep. Having a doctor prescribe a lethal dose of medicine to end the life of an individual doesn't come across to me as carrying any dignity.And it's notable once again how the ACLU used the word "hail" again in its press release earlier this month on this ruling (http://www.aclu.org/scotus/2005/23511prs20060117.html).

In its quest for national support of the death culture, the ACLU has taken its win in Oregon and proceeding to descend on California's Democrat controlled legislature to follow Oregon's example. The ACLU supported such legislation in 2005 but it failed to pass. Nevertheless, the bill has been reintroduced in the 2006 session and will be coming up for consideration in March. And the ACLU will be there in full tow, working the legislative aisles and using the words "privacy," "dignity" and "rights" to get its pro-death agenda thru.In addition to the ACLU's unwavering support of abortion, assisted suicide and euthanasia, its relentless crusades for homosexual rights, practices and marriage add to its pro-death culture. How so, you say?Homosexual activity is fraught with much disease and pain, many of them exclusively confined to practitioners of such behavior. Of course, most people are aware of HIV and AIDS and the horrific pain associated with them but there are many more diseases than just those. Yet such does not concern the ACLU. The "right" to practice deadly behavior and the "privacy" that comes with it trumps all else. Even if such activity ends up in death, it was the right of those persons to engage in such behavior. The ACLU is well pleased when such activity occurs. The Lawrence vs. Texas Supreme Court ruling in 2003 is the perfect example of it.Of course, there is one group of people excluded from the ACLU's love affair with death, that being those on death row. The ACLU has a consistent policy in fighting death penalty proponents which is likely why many people dub them (aptly so) "the American Criminal Liberties Union."Perhaps a better slogan for the ACLU might be "The ACLU: Where death row convicts are worthy of breath and the unborn and disabled worthy of death"?I think it's time to sentence the ACLU to death row.

And here's how you, my readers, can help. Talk to your family, friends, neighbors and co-workers. See if any of them are among the half million members of the ACLU. Share with them the ACLU's untenable positions. Urge any financial backers to stop funding this anti-American organization. Tell Congress to pass legislation banning taxpayer funds from going to the ACLU when they win 10 Commandments' cases. Write, fax or e-mail letters to the editor of your local paper on the ACLU. When the ACLU comes to your town to speak at a school or public forum, ask those in charge to permit an alternate view to be heard so the ACLU's positions can be exposed.Many Americans still view the ACLU as a civil liberties organization rather than, as one person recently shared with me, a civil libertine one. This needs to be changed. The unborn and the Terri Schiavos of the world have no civil liberties, according to the ACLU. This is unconscionable.Currently 5 states — Indiana, Ohio, South Dakota, Tennessee and Georgia — are considering wholesale or near wholesale bans on abortion.

This is absolutely fabulous but it needs to double, triple and quadruple to other states. A stern message must be sent to abortion practitioners and their ACLU allies that the days of killing our unborn children are over.And I say pass the bills. The ACLU will no doubt sue on behalf of the abortion lobby but let them. Let the courts overturn the legislature's laws if they wish but let the people's elected officials stand up and insist these abortion bans stand. There is no better time after 33 years of Roe vs. Wade than to ban abortion, welcome all of God's creatures into the world (including the Terri Schiavos in it) and cherish the mothers who bring these human blessings into the world.Let's send the ACLU's death agenda to the executioner.

Does the ACLU really defend Christians

At this Christmas season, the ACLU is apparently trying to crash the party by trying to convince the Christian community that it is in our corner. Recent near-carbon-copy letters to the editor from ACLU directors in Indiana and Louisiana to the Fort Wayne Gazette and Baton Rouge Advocate, respectively, want to persuade you that they'll defend you if you identify yourself with Jesus Christ.

Grab the Rolaids. I think someone just got a taste of acid reflux.Yes, it is true. The ACLU may consider defending you — your religious expression, that is.But what about traditional Christian values? Does the ACLU respect our values system?The answer is an unequivocal no.

The ACLU has a clear duplicity on religious expression as we shall see. But let's first examine the ACLU on values.Anti-Christian valuesPerhaps no two values define cultural Christian conservatives more than the sanctity of life and the upholding of traditional marriage, though issues like pornography and public displays of the 10 Commandments are certainly worthy of "honorable mention."One need not look further than the ACLU's steadfast refusal to support any and all restrictions on abortion, including one to stop the gruesome procedure of partial birth abortion, a procedure as much as 80% of the American populace wants banned, to demonstrate the ACLU's hostility to the Christian value of life.

A 2002 ACLU press release, as reported in the Alliance Defense Fund's recently published book ACLU vs. America, states abortionists should be "honored and upheld as the heroes they are," which is evidence their "value system" is not one the vast majority of Americans embrace.Add to that a banquet held last week in honor of Judge George Greer by the Pinellas County, Florida chapter of the ACLU as the judge who permitted the starvation of Terri Schiavo, and it's hard to see how the ACLU is anything but friendly to Christian values.Greer was the same judge who thumbed his nose at the Florida legislature, the governor, Congress, and the president for passing legislation to protect Terri, refused to consider massive evidence how she could be rehabilitated, rejected the parents' wishes to take care of her, and was unwilling himself to visit her (a right judges customarily take into consideration in their rulings) to ascertain her true condition.It's worth noting that a self-described agnostic lesbian in a wheelchair said earlier this year, during protests outside the hospice where Terri was held, that she would rather have a Christian decide her fate than the ACLU. However, Terri, had no such fortune. The civil-rights-touting ACLU steadfastly refused to consider her civil liberties, the kind found in Section 1 of the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.Instead, the ACLU chose to defend Terri's husband, Michael Schiavo, despite strong evidence of his vast spousal abuse.

He joined forces with his assisted suicide buddy, attorney George Felos, before Judge Greer and Florida's courts. This is no surprise, considering that the ACLU backed unsuccessful California legislation earlier this year to grant assisted suicide, and filed a friend of the court brief in favor of the state of Oregon against the U.S. government defending the state's assisted suicide law, currently at the U.S. Supreme Court.So if I understand the ACLU correctly, the ACLU's position regarding abortion is that it is a decision between a woman and her doctor. But on assisted suicide, it's apparently a decision to be made without the doctor, considering virtually all medical groups and organizations oppose it.

If you can't make heads or tails of the ACLU, you're not alone.Anti-marriageRegarding the sanctity of marriage, when an organization announces a national gay marriage campaign as the ACLU did in May — despite the fact that voters in every state with marriage amendments on the ballot passed such legislation by substantial margins — it can hardly be said that the ACLU represents Christian values. It's just the opposite.But on the issue of marriage and homosexual relationships, it's not just Christian values that are offended. Orthodox Jews, most Muslims, and virtually all other religions oppose same sex marriage and homosexuality, yet the ACLU goes against the grain on them all. They successfully sued (thus far) to overturn Nebraska's voter-enacted marriage amendment and are working to create similar scenarios in states like Georgia, Oklahoma, Maryland, and Washington.Yeah, I'm a radical right winger on this issue, like Orthodox Jews and most Muslims.The ACLU's president, Nadine Strossen, has publicly stated on more than one occasion that the ACLU backs the practice of polygamy and has been involved in litigation in favor of it in Utah. So marriage to the ACLU means anything and everything.Expression vs. valuesCould ACLU directors Fran Quigley of Indiana and Joe Cook of Louisiana be referring to defending religious expression instead religious values? That seems to be the case, considering their mention of the ACLU defense of a Southern Indiana street preacher, a Michigan high school student who was censored from entering Christian expression, and the rights of Iowa students to distribute Christian literature.If Quigley and Cook need a few items to add to their list of ACLU defenses, perhaps I can help.

The ACLU of Pennsylvania did defend, oddly enough, a pro-life family, not because of the family's position on abortion, but the right to display pro-life signs in front of their own home.The ACLU also defended, in an unusual alliance with the American Family Association (AFA), an imprisoned New Mexico street preacher, and filed a friend of the court brief in support of the right of a 2nd grade girl in New Jersey to sing "Awesome God," a case filed by the Alliance Defense Fund (ADF). They also defended Massachusetts school children who wanted to pass out Christmas candy canes with scriptural messages (while supporting same sex marriage in the state).And the ACLU recently tried coming to the aid of a street evangelist who was prevented from preaching outside a California courthouse, another case represented by ADF.

The ACLU says on its web site regarding the New Jersey case "There is a distinction between speech by a school and speech by individual students. The Constitution protects a student's individual right to express herself, including the right to express herself religiously."However, that free speech that was affirmed by the New Jersey ACLU apparently did not apply to a Jonesboro, Arkansas, high school senior girl who gave "an altar call" to accept Jesus Christ. The ACLU of Arkansas director, Rita Sklar, called Jessica Reed's right to express herself as a "blatant display of contempt for the 1st Amendment."Oh, by the way, did I say that Ms. Sklar is also the spokesperson for the National Gay & Lesbian Task Force (NGLTF)? Make the connection.The same ACLU that defended the freedom of expression of the Pennsylvania family above to display their pro-life signs sought to oppose the same 1st Amendment rights by supporting the use of FACE (Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances) against pro-lifers as well as buffer zones.Furthermore, Louisiana's Mr. Cook conveniently ignored the 1st Amendment rights of a Louisiana student who prayed over a loudspeaker prior to a football game, choosing instead to sue school officials who allowed the prayer, even to the point of equating them with 9/11 terrorists. And Indiana's Quigley recently helped obtain a court injunction against the state legislature, barring prayer before legislative sessions by ministers that mentions Jesus and Christ.Can we conclude that the ACLU is hostile to religious values while dancing on both sides of the fence on religious expression?In the balanceI have received many e-mails at my web site telling the me the ACLU would defend my civil rights if they were violated. Judging from the above cases, I would say the chances of that occurring are 50% at best if it involves the defense of religious expression. But if the issue concerns the defense of religious values, such as abortion, same sex marriage, and pornography, the ACLU's likelihood of going to bat for me are at best 0%.Some of these same people can quote the above cases where the ACLU went to bat for a Christian. These folks conveniently ignore the thousands of lawsuits of the ACLU defending Planned Parenthood, the National Abortion Rights Action League (NARAL), the National Organization of Women (NOW), abortionists, the Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network (GLSEN), Gay/Straight Alliances, homosexuals seeking state sanctioned marriage, atheists seeking to remove religious symbols or the 10 Commandments from city logos or public property, pornographers like Larry Flynt of Hustler Magazine, and many others.

But because of the little good the ACLU does, should I praise them for it? Almost anyone can do good 10% in their lifetimes.Let's assume an adult video and bookstore applies for a permit to move into your community. 90% of what the owner plans to sell is X rated. However, to appease the majority of citizens who don't want the store, he agrees to set aside 10% of the store for Christian videos and books, thinking that the public will overlook his smut and thus create a family friendly environment.Are you likely going to want to purchase a Bible or a Disney children's film from this proprietor?Or assume John Q. Senator is up to reelection. He amassed 20 votes on issues that were important to you. He voted with your views only twice out of those 20 but was passionately principled about those occasions of agreement.Do you want John Q. to represent you for another 6 years?If your answer is NO to either or both examples, why would you want the ACLU in your corner for the 10% (at best) of the time they do something good?Share the truthI'd be lying if I said the ACLU never did any good. The ACLU has been on the right side in its opposition to the blatantly unconstitutional Campaign Finance Reform law that was signed into existence by President Bush. The ACLU has fought for removal of cameras from traffic lights, citing 1st Amendment concerns. And the ACLU has defended street preachers as noted above.But given the wholesale destruction of America's values by litigating them out of existence in favor of ACLU values that scant minorities of Americans embrace, and by using activist courts that are willing to be complicit in their process, does it benefit America and specifically us pro-life, pro-family Christians to have the inaptly named American Civil Liberties Union go to bat for us?This Christmas season, share the truth of the ACLU with a friend or family member. If he or she is an ACLU member, so much the better. Perhaps he or she considers the ACLU a civil rights organization that defends everyone, a point the ACLU claims on many of its chapters' web sites. Explain that the ACLU may defend his or her freedom of expression but if he or she has any traditional religious values needing representation, they would be much better off using a worthy and family friendly, pro-life public interest law firm like ADF, a group successfully having staved off ACLU threats and litigation on many fronts over the last decade.

The greatest gift America could be given this season would be reducing the ACLU's half million membership base, doing so one individual at a time. America will be kept safer and freer by its depletion. If passed, Alabama's libraries would be robbed of works by celebrated authors such as Herman Melville, Tennessee Williams, Willa Cather, Carson McCullers, John Cheever, Alice Walker, James Baldwin, Truman Capote and Gore Vidal, to name a few on what will be a very long list.

We must be allowed public housing on universities.

My entire family must be considered surviving partners if one of us doesn’t have a will and dies.
We deserve Tax Benifits, Filing joint income tax returns with the IRS and state taxing authorities. The right to create a "family partnership" under federal tax laws, which allows you to divide business income among family members.

We demand all school children be taught, from preschool through college graduation, that we are a normal loving family. They must be forcibly taught that anyone who disagrees with our family’s lifestyles are terrible, hurtful, hateful bigots who should be locked away from decent people. We deserve to be protected from bullying and name-calling.

We demand that we have equal representation for the Para-sexual on all aspects television, radio, movie and print. This means at least five prime time sitcoms, three to five major motion pictures per season, and daily mention in the news media.

If American Idol does not find one of our very talented Para-sexual's to be THE American Idol, they must be thoroughly chastised in the press, and maybe sued by our great friends over at the ACLU.

Para-sexualism must become a protected lifestyle, this is a civil rights issue. We must not be discriminated against in any way. Laws must be passed protecting us from anyone who disagrees with us. Our liberty is at stake!
Our family unit is larger than most, so we will fall well below the government described poverty line. Due to this, we deserve (and demand) equal access to child care, Medicare, welfare, unemployment, food stamps and any other wonderful social program we find out there that will give us what we deserve: free money.

Your churches must also accept us. We will not allow intolerance from the pulpit. Any church that does not immediately and wholeheartedly accept us into their congregation will have their leaders arrested for hate crimes against us. We do not care that God says what we are doing is SIN… we love one another. Is not God all about LOVE??? You best be LOVING us or we will get the government to make you, religious God fearing bigots!
Your Church leaders better step up and get ready for some BIG weddings. When we come down the aisle, it is a true parade!

A Closer look at the founding fathers of the ACLU

We at the Stop The ACLU blog and BlogBurst have been founded with the goal of bringing public awareness of the Anti-American activities of the American Civil Liberties Union. The fact is, the only thing about the ACLU that is American is the first word in the title of their organization. And this has been true since their founding.

We have been focused on the two prominent co-founders Roger Baldwin and Crystal Eastman; but the truth is that there were 7 others. People like Upton Sinclair and Clarence Darrow just to name a couple. But the most notorious of the founding "fathers" of the American Civil Liberals Union (no I didn't spell that wrong) was Elizabeth "Gurley" Flynn.Ms. Flynn was the co-founder who ended up being the National Chairman of the Communist Party in the US. A devout Communist who made several trips to the Soviet Union after the denunciation of Communism by Roger Baldwin in 1940.

A move which had motives other than those publicized.The public appearance of the denunciation was to give the illusion of distancing active members of the Communist party from the ACLU. When in fact it was a statement meant to be felt by Josef Stalin. Stalin enjoyed the support of people like Baldwin in the United States before the outbreak of war in Europe. Baldwin and Eastman being the strict pacifists that they were, had a total opposition to the Soviet Union entering the war. But they also saw the Soviet-German non-aggression treaty as a crime against the good Soviet people. So Flynn expulsion from the Executive Committee was a farce.Flynn was indoctrinated into the Socialist mindset by her parents. At the age of 16 she gave her first speech on socialism entitled "What Socialism Will Do For Women." A speech which subsequently got her expelled from high school.At the age of 17 Flynn became an organizer for the International Workers of the World (IWW) and her career as a full time Socialist began.

In 1920 she joined forces with Roger Baldwin, Crystal Eastman, Upton Sinclair, Clarence Darrow, Norman Thomas, Jane Addams, and John Dewey to form what we now know as the American Civil Liberties Union.In 1936, Flynn joined the http://www.cpusa.org/ Party in the United States. She wrote a feminist column for the Communist propaganda sheet the http://www.spartacus.schoolnet.co.uk/USAworkerD.htm Daily Worker. Two years later, she was elected to the National Committee.During World War II, Flynn worked tirelessly to get equal pay for women and establish day care centers for working mothers. Efforts which we here at Stop The ACLU applaud. Because contrary to the popular leftist belief, we here have strong feelings about the true equality of men and women of all races, creeds, and religions.

In 1942, she ran for Congress At-Large in New York and received only 50,000 votes.After the war in 1948, 12 members of the Communist Party were arrested for plotting to overthrow the government by use of violence. Flynn attempted to gain their release but in 1951 she was arrested in a "second wave" of arrests and charged with violation of the Alien Registration Act and sentenced to 5 years at Alderson Women's Penitentiary.During her sentence she wrote a book entitled The Alderson Story: My Life as a Political Prisoner (1955).Soon after her release from prison in 1961, Flynn was elected National Chairman of the Communist Party in the USA. She made several trips to the Soviet Union where in 1964 during a visit she died. Here is the Stop the ACLU Coalition's Mission Statement:

The Stop the ACLU Coalition has one goal: to end the ACLU's tangible existence. We will achieve this by every lawful means possible, including but not limited to:

boycotting all companes, corporations, foundations, lawyers, politicians and others who benefit financially from the ACLU or who donate to them
recruiting current ACLU supporters and members by sharing with them the ACLU's agenda for to America and urging them to join the Stop the ACLU Coalition
gathering millions of petitions to send to the ACLU to let them know the outrage across America against their agenda
marching unitedly across all ACLU offices across America and publicly showing massive opposition to the ACLU's harm of America; sharing and educating churches, synagogues and patriots all across our land, regardless of political party, the need to stand up to the ACLU
showing both moral and tangible support to people and groups who are plaintiffs or defendants in lawsuits with the ACLU
urging state and federal lawmakers to defund ACLU lawsuits and enact legislation preventing frivolous lawsuits such as litigation based on an individual or individuals claiming to be offended by prayers, religious symbols or other forms of Constitutionally permitted expressions.

In short, the Stop the ACLU Coalition will do everything to stop the ACLU except litigate which we are not licensed to do. We will complement the above law firms as well as other attorney and legal groups standing up to the ACLU but not mentioned above by providing them with prayer, encouragement and moral and financial support.

This is the commitment of the Stop the ACLU Coalition to everyone in America.

Chip's comment: if we will keep the mission before us at all times we will be motavated to Stop the ACLU. I am starting to read the book"The ACLU vs America and it should be read by anyone who feels passionate about our Mission and goal.

Today is Thanksgiving --- and we living in America have so many reasons to be thankful. We will all gather today with family and friends, stuff ourselves on turkey and other goodies, and, I pray that we will all remember to give thanks to God, who has made all of this possible.

But, how many people really know the full story of our first Thanksgiving? For most of us, we were taught that the Pilgrims came to America to escape religious persecution; that the first winter was very devastating; but, their Indian friends came to the rescue, taught them how to raise corn, etc --- and they all sat down together and had a feast. That is the history I was taught in school.

Let's take a look at what led up to that first Thanksgiving. In England, in the 1500s and the early 1600s, the Christian religion was undergoing a lot of changes. On October 31, 1517, Dr. Martin Luther, a German monk, posted his "Disputation on the Power and Efficacy of Indulgences" --- better known as Luther's 95 Theses --- on the Castle door at Wittenberg, Germany.

In 1534, King Henry VIII, of England, wanting to divorce his first wife, Catherine of Aragon, because she had not produced a son to be heir of the throne, and because he had fallen in love with Anne Boleyn, the sister of one of his many mistresses --- had parliament pass the Act of Supremacy which recognized the king as "the only supreme head of the Church of England called Anglicana Ecclesia." Henry had now thrown out the pope and his Roman Catholic church --- and declared himself to be the head of the Church of England, the Anglican Church, from which comes the Episcopalian churches of America. At this point, good old King Henry made membership in his church mandatory for everyone in England. Soon, many English people, tired of this king run church, started forming illegal Protestant church groups.

The first group, the Puritans, wanted to stay in the Anglican church, but to "purify" it, hence the name Puritan. They wanted to bring real Biblical reform back into the church and get rid of the corruption which had begun to run rampant in the church.

Then, there were the Separatists, who wanted total separation of the church from the state. They demanded that the church be free from all state control.

And, there were the Pilgrims, who only wanted to find a home where they could worship as they pleased. These are the people who came to America on the ship, the Mayflower. They formed a local government based upon a covenant they wrote aboard the Mayflower, called the Mayflower Compact, which reads, "Having undertaken, for the glory of God, and the advancement of the Christian faith, and honor of our king and country, a voyage to plant the first colony in the Northern parts of Virginia, do by these presents solemnly and mutually in the presence of God, and one another, covenant and combine ourselves together into a civil body politic, for our better ordering and preservation and furtherance of the ends aforesaid; . . ." These are the people who laid the foundation for the America we now are so blessed to call home.

In 1609, the Pilgrims fled England to Holland, but found the extreme secular lifestyle there to be undesirable for raising their families.

In 1620, the Pilgrims made a contract with the Plymouth Company, of Plymouth, England, to come the Virginia colony area and settle. From there they would trade exclusively with the Plymouth Company. Although their destination was Virginia, bad weather forced the Pilgrims to make land much further north, at a place now known as Plymouth, Massachusetts. After landing, in severe winter weather, at what we now call Plymouth Rock, they sat there for the next few months in crude shelters --- cold, sick and slowly starving to death. Half of the original 102 did not survive that terrible first winter.

The Wampanoag Indians, living nearby, were aware of the English but chose to avoid contact them for the time being. For the Pilgrims, the Indian population were savages which they had to be on guard against; another danger they had to survive. Now, here comes the interesting part. Samoset, a Abenaki Indian from Maine, hunting in Massachusetts, came across the growing disaster at Plymouth.

Imagine the surprise of the Pilgrims when Samoset walked into their camp and said in broken English, "Hello Englishmen" --- having learned some English from contact with English fishermen and the short-lived colony at the mouth of the Kennebec River in 1607. Samoset stayed the night, seeing their situation, and left the next morning. He soon returned with his friend, Squanto, who, to the great surprise of the Pilgrims, spoke perfect English. Samoset also introduced the Pilgrims to the Wampanoag leader, Chief Massasoit. Squanto, (his Indian name was Tisquantum) was a native of the Patuxet tribe, which lived at present-day Plymouth, and which belonged to the Wampanoag confederation of tribes.

In 1605, Captain George Weymouth led an expedition to America and wanting to take back some of the native Indians, he captured Squanto and several others. Squanto was taken to England, where he learned to speak English very well.

In 1614, he returned, as a guide and interpreter, with another expedition to the New England coastal area, where he stayed. Squanto befriended the Pilgrims, and taught them how to use manure to grow their corn, where to catch fish and eels, and acted as their interpreter and guide. Without Squanto's help, the Pilgrims would probably have had severe famine over the next year, and would have lived in constant fear of their Indian neighbors --- Indians who were actually quite peaceful, but who had been angered by the cruel treatment they received from many English ship captains.

In October 1621 the Pilgrims held a Harvest Feast. Plymouth Governor William Bradford declares the feast to give thanks to God for their first harvest. Massasoit and 90 other Wampanoag Indians are invited to join the 52 remaining Pilgrims for this three-day feast. The English serve wild turkeys, geese, and ducks. The Wampanoag bring five deer, along with lobsters, clams, oysters, and fish. The feast also includes cucumbers, carrots, cabbages, turnips, radishes, onions, beets, corn, and wild fruits. The Harvest Feast went on for three days. That, my Friend, was our first American Thanksgiving.

In 1789, President Washington, recollecting the countless blessings for which our new Nation should give thanks, declared the first National Day of Thanksgiving. And decades later, with the Nation embroiled in a bloody civil war, President Abraham Lincoln revived what is now an annual tradition of issuing a presidential proclamation of Thanksgiving. President Lincoln asked God to "heal the wounds of the nation and to restore it as soon as may be consistent with the Divine purposes to the full enjoyment of peace, harmony, tranquillity, and Union."

On October 3, 1863, President Lincoln issued a proclamation which set the precedent for America's national day of Thanksgiving and, on November 28, 1861, he ordered government departments closed for a local day of thanksgiving. The holiday we know today as Thanksgiving was recommended to Lincoln by Sarah Josepha Hale, a prominent New Hampshire magazine editor. Her letters to Lincoln urged him to have the "day of our annual Thanksgiving made a National and fixed Union Festival." The proclamation set apart the last Thursday of November "as a day of Thanksgiving and Praise." Abraham Lincoln declared the first true national autumn Thanksgiving for Thursday, November 26, 1863, recognizing a long-standing New England tradition of placing the holiday on the fourth Thursday in November. He did it partially to help soothe the national mood, which was weary of the Civil War. He declared Thanksgiving again for November 23, 1864.

In 1865, his successor, Andrew Johnson, declared a Thanksgiving for December 7, 1865, and presidents traditionally declared a Thanksgiving for every autumn since. Andrew Johnson was the first to give government employees the day off, making it a legal holiday.

In 1941, Congress passed a bill, and Franklin D. Roosevelt signed it, that fixed the date as the fourth Thursday in November. FDR attempted to move the holiday to the third Thursday in November, but Congress enacted a law to fix the date at the fourth Thursday in November, thus making it an "official" holiday.

On November 26, 1941, FDR signed the bill. That, my Friend, is the day you and I celebrate as Thanksgiving --- and this brief history shows, without a doubt, that Americans have been celebrating Thanksgiving, since 1621 --- by thanking God for the many blessings He has given to us. The Pilgrims thanked God for bringing them an English speaking Indian who helped them survive;

President George Washington declared that we should give thanks for the many blessings God had brought upon our new Nation; President Lincoln declared we should ask God to "heal the wounds of the nation and to restore it as soon as may be consistent with the Divine purposes to the full enjoyment of peace, harmony, tranquillity, and Union."

Today, we should be doing the same. We should be giving thanks to our God for the many blessings He has bestowed upon us. And we should be praying that He will heal the wounds of our nation --- the abortion wounds, the attack on Biblical marriage wounds, the wounds inflicted by the Liberal atheistic fanatics in their attempt to remove all vestiges of God from our nation --- and restore it as soon as may be consistent with the Divine purpose --- Abe Lincoln's way of saying, "Lord, in Your time. You make all things beautiful, in Your time" --- and we know that He will make America back into "America the Beautiful," in His time.

I thank God for the beautiful family He has given me; I thank Him for blessing my family with good health; and I especially thank Him for my Wife and Son he has blessed me with..

Christian Activists to Hand-Deliver Letters Demanding ACLU Back Off

WASHINGTON, Nov. 17 /Christian Wire Service/ -- The Reverends Rob Schenck (pronounced SHANK) and Patrick J. Mahoney will visit ACLU headquarters today to hand-deliver more than 20,000 petitions demanding that the left-leaning liberal attack group back off of terrorizing communities and individuals who seek to affirm America's Judeo-Christian values.Schenck, who heads up Faith and Action in the Nation's Capital, and Mahoney, director of the Christian Defense Coalition, asked their respective members to sign the statements after the ACLU sued a small rural school district in Adams County, Ohio, over four displays of the Ten Commandments in front of public schools there. The ACLU won an order for the Commandments to be removed, then demanded that the school reimburse them for legal expenses. After Christian ministers in the community stepped forward with a pledge to replace the money taken from the school budget, the ACLU settled for $80,000.

"The ACLU is this generation's Ku Klux Klan," said Rev. Rob Schenck. "They gallop into small towns with legal hoods over their heads and terrorize good people by threatening to harm children by draining the coffers of local schools if they so much as dare to recognize our nation's true heritage. These ACLU bullies are nothing more than psychological terrorists."The Reverends Schenck and Mahoney plan to arrive at the offices of the ACLU around 3:00 P.M.

Alabama Christianity Leads the Nation

MONTGOMERY - According to a recent survey, 67% of Alabamians can be classified as “Born Again” - the highest percentage in the nation. Christian Coalition of Alabama (CCA) President John Giles says, “Alabama ranks first place in the nation in Christianity. Alabama leads the nation in the percentage of residents that claim faith in Christ. This is a testament to our fine and tirelessly dedicated clergy across this state.” CCA announced today the results of a survey conducted by nationally renowned BARNA Research (http://www.barna.org ), indicating Alabama leads the nation in those professing Christianity. Excerpts from the BARNA Report:

“The statewide data showed that Alabama earned the top ranking for the percentage of residents who are born again: 67%. Overall, nine states had 50% or more of the adult population who were born again. Among the 27 most populous states, the one that emerged with the lowest percentage who are born again, by far, was Massachusetts (17%). The four states with the lowest percentages of adult Christians were all in the Northeast. In a similar manner, the state whose population generated the highest Christian-orientation score was Alabama. Adults are most likely to claim they have a responsibility to share their religious beliefs with other people if they live in Birmingham, Alabama. Personal evangelism efforts were most common in Alabama and Louisiana. The report also explores the faith of residents in the 27 most populous states. The state with the highest percentage of adults who are evangelical is Alabama.”

This high percentage of Christians explains many of the powerful dynamics of Alabama. “If anything good needs to happen or if anything bad needs to be blocked, Alabamians can meet that challenge. This survey also explains why our people are so benevolent to the poor,” Giles said. According to the 2004 Generosity Index published by the Catalogue for Philanthropy (http://www.catalogueforphilanthropy.org), Alabamians ranked 38th in personal assets, but 7th in giving, resulting in an overall Generosity Index rating of 5th in the nation. In similar findings, a 2002 exit poll conducted by Marketing Research Institute (MRI) (http://www.ccbama.org/pollinginformation/2002ChristianCoalitionImpact.pdf) in Alabama found that 32% of all Alabamians considered themselves to be supporters or members of the CCA; and according to a June 2000 survey by MRI (http://www.ccbama.org/pollinginformation/alabamastatewidesurvey2000.pdf), by a margin of greater than two to one, Alabamians agreed with the CCA on economic, social, and moral issues.

Topic: Ten Commandments

How would you answer the question “How many ways are there to Heaven?” If you are a Christian, you will no doubt be quick to say that there is only one way to Heaven...and you would be wrong. The correct answer is that there are two ways…according to Jesus. In Matthew 19:17 when a young man asked Him how he could obtain everlasting life, Jesus told him that he would live, if he kept God’s Law.

So, according to Jesus, if you want to make it to Heaven, keep the Law. All it requires is moral perfection. You simply have to be perfect in thought, word, and deed. If you sin even once, the Law will condemn you and you will not enter Heaven (James 2:10). If you as much as lust, you commit adultery in your heart (Matthew 5:27-28). If you hate your brother, you are a murderer (1John 3:15). Are you perfect? You say, “Of course not. Nobody’s perfect.” Then you had better find another way to Heaven because the Law will see to it that justice is done…and you go to Hell. Like the woman caught in the act of adultery, it is waiting to fall upon you like Ten Great rocks of God’s wrath. Your only avenue of escape is to do what the condemned woman did, and fling yourself at the feet of the Savior. You have no alternative, if you want to live. If the Law of God is allowed to do its job, it will drive you to the cross. That’s its function--to act as a schoolmaster to bring us to Christ (Galatians 3:24).

The devil hates God’s Law because of what it does. That’s why there is such a concerted effort to rid America of the restrictions of the Ten Commandments (God’s Moral Law). However, every church in America should take up a collection and send it to the headquarters of the American Civil Liberties Union as a token of appreciation for what they have done for us as a nation. Don't send the ACLU any money just trying to make a point!

Over the last 30 years the Ten Commandments have been hidden from the eyes of a generation. Up until recently, many didn’t even know what the Ten Commandments were. Not so now, thanks to the ACLU and their efforts to get rid of the Law. During August of 2003, day after day, ABC, CBS, NBC and other major television networks scrolled through the Commandments in front of an entire nation. In their effort to cover the story of a squabble over the location of a Ten Commandment monument in Alabama, millions have seen a close-up of “Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,” etc., night after night after night. A nation that was once in moral darkness has been given the light of God’s Law via secular television.

The Church couldn’t have done a better job if we had embarked on a multimillion-dollar advertising campaign. Not only were the Commandments on television, but they were also the subjects of articles in hundreds of newspapers, letters to the editor, talk shows, radio news, magazines, and all over the Internet.

While many Christians saw the removal of the Ten Commandments monument from the Alabama courthouse as something negative and depressing, it was actually very positive and exciting. The ACLU did our “groundwork” for us. If you study Scripture you will see that there is a pattern to Israel’s history. They would stray from God’s Law, become idolatrous, and then give themselves to sin. God would send a prophet, who would remind them of the Commandments and warn of God’s judgment. Israel would be humbled, and turn back to the Lord.

Our country has strayed from God’s Law. Like Israel, we have become idolatrous. Our “image” of God has been shaped into nothing more than a benevolent father figure, whom we call on in time of need. When the need has passed, we put our mute and convenient god back on the shelf…until we need him again.

God is now calling the Church to do the work of His Old Testament prophets. Each of us must learn to “break up the Law” as Moses did when Israel danced naked around the golden calf. We must thrust the Commandments at the feet of an idolatrous and sinful nation, and show them that they have broken them into a thousand pieces. We need to know how to open up the spiritual nature of each Commandment and reveal (not only that God requires truth in the inward parts), but also that He will judge the world “in righteousness”—by the holy requirements of His Law. When the United States understands the perfection required by God, and that “the Law works wrath,” they will see their need to flee to the safety of the Savior.

God’s ways certainly are not the same as ours. The negatives of lion’s dens, pharaoh’s, fiery furnaces, Red seas, and the depressing antics of anti-Christian organizations become positive and exciting instruments, when God decides to fulfill His wonderful purposes through them.

And, with the nomination only hours old, some Senate Democrats were already drawing up plans to filibuster this nomination in an effort to deny Judge Alito a fair up-or-down vote on the Senate floor.

The truth is, however, Judge Alito is one of the brightest legal minds in America, who WAS unanimously confirmed to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit in 1990 by a Democrat-controlled Senate.

He will bring a wealth of experience to the High Court, having worked for more than 30 years in public service, including 15 years as a federal appeals court judge.

Throughout his career, even his adversaries have described Judge Alito as a fair-minded, even-tempered jurist. He is a strong conservative with a lengthy track record of interpreting the Constitution and upholding the rule of law, not legislating from the bench.

Simply put, Judge Alito is exactly the type of jurist the American people want on the Supreme Court.

Liberal Hypocrisy?

In 1990, it took the Democrat-controlled Senate Judiciary Committee all of 15 minutes to conclude its confirmation hearing on Judge Alito's nomination to the 3rd Circuit.

During that hearing, Senator Ted Kennedy praised Judge Alito's "distinguished career" by telling the judge...

"You have obviously had a very distinguished record, and I certainly commend you for long service in the public interest. I think it is a very commendable career and I am sure you will have a successful one as a judge."

But, this week, it took Senator Kennedy no time at all to bow to his special interest group friends by charging, "If confirmed, Alito could very well fundamentally alter the balance of the court and push it dangerously to the right."

And Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, taking his cue from the liberal talking points drafted by PFAW and Alliance for Justice, chimed in saying, "The Senate needs to find out if the man replacing Miers is too radical for the American people."

In 1990, both Kennedy and Reid VOTED in favor of Judge Alito when he was confirmed to his current position on the Court of Appeals. And now they say Judge Alito is "dangerous" and "extreme?" Even worse, now some members of their party are even threatening to deny Judge Alito a fair up-or-down vote on his confirmation?

It is time to stand up to this liberal hypocrisy, overcome their threats of obstruction, and make sure the Senate confirms Judge Alito!

Just Who Is Judge Alito?

With Judge Alito's nomination to the Supreme Court, the President did what he promised to do. He nominated a judge in the mold of Justices Scalia and Thomas.

Someone with a proven record of putting the Constitution first. And someone who understands that judges are supposed to carefully consider the law and the facts, not legislate from the bench.

He certainly understands the proper ?and limited ? role of a judge, and he's a distinguished and experienced federal appeals court judge to boot.

As Assistant to the Solicitor General, he argued at least a dozen cases before the Supreme Court. And, he's logged 15 years on the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals, where he has written more than 300 opinions.

In fact, he's had more experience on a Court of Appeals than any Supreme Court nominee in 70 years!

And he's left a paper trail that stretches from Philadelphia to Washington ? a record of fairness and insight that shows he values the Constitution.

Like Scalia and Thomas, he has been true to his judicial principles, and true to the Constitution - even when that meant he had to stand alone.

In short, he's the man we expected President Bush to nominate. And now we have to fight for the President's courageous choice.

It wasn't true. And People for the American Way knew it. But they slandered Judge Bork anyway. And, when the lie was exposed, they refused to apologize.

And they'll do it again. Before this fight is over, you can be certain People for the American Way will lie shamelessly about Judge Samuel Alito.

In fact, before the sun set on the very day President Bush made his choice, liberal commentator Chris Matthews expressed genuine shock at a Democratic smear sheet already in circulation.

The first item on the list attempts to use Alito's Italian background to tie him in with the Mafia.

Most Americans just laughed and shook our heads in disbelief years ago when a handful of extremists began systematically targeting the Boy Scouts as a "subversive organization."

But over time, because most Americans didn't fight back, didn't marginalize the extremists, didn't speak up proudly and stand behind the Boy Scouts, it is this outstanding civic organization that has taken a beating.

The decision this week by the Defense Department to accommodate the American Civil Liberties Union at the expense of the Boy Scouts illustrates the way our country is being reshaped by the worldview of the extremists.

In case you missed it, the Pentagon has agreed to warn its bases not to sponsor Boy Scout troops in appeasement of the ACLU and end a 5-year-old lawsuit that had charged the government with improperly supporting a group promoting belief in God.

Our founding fathers must be spinning in their graves today.

If you take the ACLU and other extremists supporting its agenda at their word, you have to believe this fight is about "tolerance."

They maintain they oppose the Boy Scouts because of their "intolerance" for people who don't embrace their values. And, in the name of "tolerance," the ACLU and those who consider the Boy Scouts "subversive," have no tolerance for the Boy Scouts – or anyone else who disagrees with them.

The ACLU is never going to change. It is an anti-American organization. It is a group that seeks to destroy all that makes America a unique experiment in freedom. It is an organization in league with all of America's enemies. It is an organization that hates God, hates what is right, decent and morally upright. It is an organization in league with the Devil, as far as I am concerned.

And the ACLU is an organization that needs to be isolated, exposed for what it is, recognized for what it is and destroyed if necessary.

Instead, because most Americans have a live-and-let-live attitude, we "tolerate" the ACLU. We wink at it. Maybe we laugh at it. But the ACLU and its allies continue to push our society, to transform it, to remake it in its own twisted image.

The Boy Scouts have been targeted by the ACLU and the homosexual activists because the Boy Scouts have been uncompromising in their views and standards. The subversives hate that. They hate when people stand up for what's right.

When it becomes dangerous to stand up for what's right in America, you know we're in trouble as a nation.

Let me ask you a question: Would you rather live next door to a family that hosts a Boy Scout troop or a family of homosexual activists? Would you rather live next door to a family of people who attend church or synagogue every week, or would you prefer to live next door to the local head of the ACLU?

What's so scary about the Boy Scouts?

A Boy Scout pledges to be trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent.

A Boy Scout vows to keep himself physically strong, morally straight and mentally alert.

And because of these characteristics and goals, the Boy Scouts today are under siege – the latest target in the Culture War.

When you see an institution like this under attack, it should set off an internal warning that our very way of life – not just the Boy Scouts – is threatened by an organized, well-funded conspiracy. I know many do not like that word "conspiracy," but no other synonym in the English language is appropriate in this context.

Think about it.

There are people in our society today who believe that it is unconstitutional for citizens to act on their moral judgments, such as the view that homosexuality is wrong. They believe that the state has the right coercively to dictate matters of conscience.

As these enemies of freedom, morality and responsibility see it, the Boy Scouts do not have the right to assert their First Amendment rights.

And they are succeeding. As incredible as it may seem, they are winning this Culture War. The establishment press is their ally. The entertainment industry is their ally. The federal government is their ally. The schools are their allies. The foundations are their allies. The apostate churches and synagogues are their allies. Now, even the U.S. military has become their ally.

It's time to reframe the debate. That's the only way our civilization, as we know it, can survive. It's time to tell the truth. It's time to stand up for decency.

That we now live in a world in which it is dangerous to stand up for trustworthiness, loyalty, helpfulness, friendliness, courteousness, kindness, obedience, cheerfulness, bravery, cleanliness and reverence should be a warning to us all.

The stakes are high.

I, for one, am taking a public stand in favor of the Boy Scouts. I like what they stand for. Even though I have never been a Scout or involved with the organization (as a father of five girls), I consider their goals and objectives beyond reproach.

I guess it's time to add me to the enemies list. I support the Boy Scouts – unequivocally, unabashedly, unashamedly. The Boy Scouts personify the kind of world in which I would like to live and raise my family.

If this is the new dividing line in our society, let the barricades be erected. I'm not retreating – not another inch.

For the Children-Abolish the ACLU

"For the children" - a phrase frequently uttered by our 42nd president. President Clinton knew how use this term to tug at the heart strings of people. He would not hesitate to use it in introducing his policy initiatives. It would win him over to women, particularly the soccer moms, notwithstanding his liberal drives and dalliances. Whether it was his failed national health care, midnight basketball, Head Start, Goals 2000 or other education proposals, regardless of his perceived lack of sincerity, Mr. Clinton claimed his policies were "for the children". The use of the term often paralyzed Congressional Republicans in opposing his agenda, fearing public backlash if they stood up to it.

However, Mr. Clinton and Congress failed in one key area "for the children". They left unchecked the most dangerous organization in America, the ACLU. Perhaps, though unlikely, it was left unchecked because the ACLU has a long history of legal abuse and being in the extremist of the extreme on virtually all their positions, causing irreparable harm to families and children and overwhelming lawmakers who might want to rein them in.

In their recent book, ACLU vs. America, Alan Sears and Craig Osten of the Alliance Defense Fund dedicated a chapter to ACLU's assault on children. In this chapter, Sears & Osten devoted a section to the ACLU's position on pornography. In this section, they recalled a report submitted by Dr. James Dobson of Focus on the Family when he and Sears were on the Attorney General's Commission on Pornography in the Reagan Administration in the 1980s. This report was presented at a hearing in the nation's capitol in which an ACLU representative was confronted with photos taken of children who had their bodily cavities grossly violated by adult men. This rep said child porn should not be produced but if it is, it must not be censored or restricted in any form so as to not violate the 1st Amendment.

As disturbing as this is, it should not be terribly surprising that the ACLU embraces this position. The kingpin of pornography and the producer of Hustler magazine, Larry Flynt, sits on the board of directors for the ACLU of Southern California, according to an article earlier this year in the National Journal. This alone would be enough for most people to believe the ACLU loves the pornographers. The other renown purveyors of porn, Playboy and Penthouse, are also very friendly with the ACLU and donate to them as well.

The ACLU states in their Appendix I, Policy 4, point B:

"Laws which punish the distribution or exposure of such materials (pornography) to minors violate the 1st Amendment" (located on the web site of Protect Kids.com).

So not only does the ACLU support the use of children in porn, it also believes that to not allow them access to porn is unconstitutional, hence their opposition to Internet filters in public libraries.

The ACLU also states on its web site http://www.aclu.org/Privacy/Privacy.cfm?ID= 10364&c=252 that they oppose using real children in porn depictions but have no problem with simulated images of children being used. Given the ACLU's relationship with the pornographers and the above report, not to mention other instances too numerous to name here, it is difficult to believe the ACLU opposes any restrictions on anything.

Besides, the issue of pornography, the ACLU promotes the harm of children by its relentless push of the homosexual agenda. Whether it be in a Gay/Straight Alliance (GSA) in public schools (yes, even in junior high and middle schools) or by its support for homosexual adoption, the ACLU's least concern is for the safety of the children.

The ACLU states on its web site that that GSAs make schools safer and expose bias towards sexual orientation. While there may be a modicum of truth in it, the name itself simply conveys a group identified by one's sexual preference and to engage in activism and promotion of such in the schools and among peers. But far be it for the ACLU to let students know the risks, pain and diseases incurred by experimentation with homosexuality, many times ending in death. As a result of the ACLU's agenda, many kids will begin performing unnatural sexual acts with those of their own gender and will begin a path, particularly for males, that will end in misery and death. And as stated above, the ACLU wouldn't think of disclosing the dangers of homosexual behavior since it is a recruitment tool to promote the Communist agenda.

And if you would like proof that homosexual behavior is tied to Communism, consider the words of the ACLU's founder, Roger Baldwin "Communism is the goal". And consider point 26 out of the 45 point outline under Current Communist Goals as entered into the Congressional Record by Congressman A.S. Herlong of Florida in January of 1963. The point says to:

"Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as normal, natural and healthy".

The ACLU further harms children by its relentless support for homosexual adoption. While mainstream medical organizations like the American Pediatric Association and the American Medical Association trump same sex adoption, claiming it is no different than heterosexual adoption and that the results of such are virtually identical, there are other reports that show the exact opposite. An 80 page report compiled by Dr. George Rekers, Professor of Neuropsychiatry and Behavioral Science at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine thoroughly debunks the ACLU and others' claims that heterosexual and homosexual adoptions are the same.

It stands to reason that a child in a household with two homosexual men or women raising him or her will likely grow up to be homosexual or at least seriously ponder doing so. It makes no sense rationally to say two homosexuals will raise their adopted children in a heterosexual way. It's like a family who works for Toyota telling their children to buy Chrysler or GM. The logic is vacuous.

While time and space do not permit me to go into great deal of this issue here, a copy can be located and downloaded at the web site of the National Association for the Reparative Treatment of Homosexuality (NARTH) found at www.narth.org. However, it should be noted that Dr. Reker's report weighed heavily in withstanding the ACLU's challenge of Florida law banning same sex adoption and the rejection of his report in an ACLU challenge to allow same sex foster parenting in Arkansas caused that state to lose its case and then current policy.

Last week, the ACLU convinced the Kansas Supreme Court to overturn an appeals court ruling and vacate a 17 year prison sentence given to a then 18 year old teen boy who performed oral sex on a developmentally disabled 14 year old boy. The issue involved here was a law that greatly enhanced criminal penalties for sexual actions when committed against someone of the same gender as opposed to someone of the opposite. Had this 18 year old, Matthew Limon, performed oral sex on an under-aged girl, he would have been eligible for a maximum 15 month sentence under the state's Romeo & Juliet law. But as it was, his prison sentence was substantially extended, due to legislation passed the Kansas legislature and subsequently upheld by a lower court and an appeals court before being struck down by the Kansas Supreme Court.

Whether a law that greatly enhances penalties for same sex sexual activities as opposed to opposite sex sexual activities and thus violate equal protection under the Constitution is worthy of a good debate. However, the ACLU's constant willingness to bypass laws enacted by the elected representatives of the people and use the courts to achieve its desired results is one that warrants Congressional action. And in this case, the ACLU continues to promote the homosexual agenda by defending this pervert while ignoring the harm that may have occurred to Mr. Limon's "partner".

The Kansas City Channel had this on their web site regarding the ruling:

Justice Marla Luckert wrote the "immediate, continuing and real injuries" caused by the law outweighed "any legitimate justification" for it. Lower courts ruled the state could justify the law as protecting children's traditional development, fighting disease or strengthening traditional values. The law's language "suggests animus toward teenagers who engage in homosexual sex," Luckert wrote, adding, "Moral disapproval of a group cannot be a legitimate state interest".

I'm sure the ACLU was applauding Justice Luckert's last comment. After all, the ACLU is a moral-less organization. After all, if you have morals, you have limits to behavior. Such a thought flies in the face of what the ACLU has stood for since 1920.

However, the appeals court judge who issued the ruling in favor of the state in 2004 had stated the opposite of what Ms. Luckert wrote. Quoting from Between the Lines News:

"Judge Henry W. Green Jr. wrote in the 2-1 decision that legislators could justify differing penalties for heterosexual versus homosexual sodomy in plenty of ways, including higher health risks or an attempt to "encourage and preserve the traditional sexual mores of society." "The Legislature could have reasonably determined that to prevent the gradual deterioration of the sexual morality approved by a majority of Kansans, it would encourage and preserve the traditional sexual mores of society,"

There you have the difference between an activist judge and one who looked at the legislative intent in line with the Constitution. One judge had the children in his mind. The other had morality on hers (with a wink to the ACLU) and how the state cannot impose it on the people.

One cannot discuss the harm the ACLU presents to children without exposing its feverish support for abortion on demand and without restriction. The ACLU has faithfully and without hesitation backed the slaughter of unborn children and opposes any and all restrictions on the procedures. They don't flinch when it comes to the barbaric procedure of partial birth abortion and speaks of it matter of factly in the courts and in their press releases. The ACLU even touts that abortion is safer than child birth which defies description, much less billions of births over thousands of years.

The ACLU is currently fighting a parental notification referendum in California and opposes a parental notification statute in New Hampshire, currently at the U.S. Supreme Court. It's patently obvious the ACLU has no regard for the unborn child nor the pregnant teen. A teen girl, according to the ACLU, is wise enough to make her own so-called "reproductive choices" sans parental input. And if she is injured in the abortion process or is given the RU-486 pill and encounters life threatening complications, the ACLU would say that's her problem. And if she later experiences regret, sorry, anxieties or emotional pain or disturbances as a result of her decision to kill her child, well, it's safe to say the ACLU won't be there for her, nor their pals at Planned Parenthood.

To further tout its love for abortion and its seared conscience, the ACLU stated in a press release in 2002 on its National Day of Appreciation for Abortion Providers:

"We must change the climate overall from one where abortion providers are vilified and assaulted to one where they are honored and upheld as the heroes they are".

It's abundantly clear that the ACLU could care less about the doctors' Hippocratic Oath "do no harm". After all, abortionists don't take that oath. And the children inside the mothers' wombs die a horrible death from the abortionists.

As abhorrent as abortion is and how the ACLU flaunts it, the one issue that appears to rankle Americans most about the ACLU is its defense of the North American Man/Boy Love Association (NAMBLA). Part of the case is outlined in ACLU vs. America. This is the one that could turn the tide against the ACLU if massive public awareness can be generated, especially among its contributors. It is the one issue that no liberal I have talked to about has been able to defend.

Most parents, even those supporting abortion and gay rights, find NAMBLA abhorrent and indefensible. That is because most parents are concerned about their children, even if family politics trend liberal. Child abuse transcends political parties. Only the hardest of the hard core can back the ACLU's position on NAMBLA.

The ACLU states on its web site it does not support the actions of Salvatore Sicari and Charles Jaynes in their vicious attack on 10 year old Jeffrey Curley of Cambridge, Massachusetts, an incident which began as a result of tips from the NAMBLA web site on luring and molesting children. However, the ACLU said NAMBLA's materials amounted to "robust free speech".

It is an incredible stretch of truth to say promotion of criminal activities thru a web site is free speech, let alone robust. Try telling that to the parents of the young lad who filed a $200 million lawsuit against NAMBLA. The case is still in the courts, almost 6 years later.

The liberal far left, led by litigation from gun control groups like the Brady Center, have worked overtime to bring lawsuits against the likes of the NRA and gun manufacturers when crimes with guns have occurred. The libs would like you to believe that such crimes are similar to the ones Sicari and Jaynes committed.

However, one problem here. Guns are legal. The NRA and most, if not all, gun makers do not advocate breaking the law. The NRA and others advocate changing the laws in states where gun control is overly restrictive. Advocating for a change in laws one web sites is perfectly permissible. Urging people to break the law and providing ways online to do so as NAMBLA has done is illegal. A criminal who uses a gun to indiscriminately kill cannot blame the gun industry for his actions unless they were knowingly part and parcel to it.

As detestable as advocating for child sex is, had NAMBLA encouraged a change in the laws on its web site, it would have been perfectly legal. Matt Foreman, director of the National Gay & Lesbian Task Force, stated after the original appeals ruling in the Kansas case above that he wanted to change America's "archaic and unjust" sex laws.

Now such is troubling to the majority of Americans but the difference between him and NAMBLA is one called for it do be done thru the legislative process and grassroots efforts and the other advocated breaking the law.

And for the record, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, an ACLU member and long time ACLU attorney, has been reported to advocate sexual relations starting at age 12.

The fact of the matter is the ACLU defends an organization that openly supports preying on young boys. While the 6th Amendment of our Constitution provides the right for the accused in a case to obtain counsel, you have to wonder if the Founding Fathers would have given second thoughts about a group like NAMBLA being guaranteed that right. It would be understandable if a public defender had to defend NAMBLA since he/she would have no choice in the matter. But for the ACLU to want to defend NAMBLA, how can you conclude that they care about the children? After all, the only time you're likely see the ACLU defending children is when you see them paraded with homosexual couples and telling the public such are good couples and deserve protection.

So is the ACLU doing what they do for the children? Hardly.

It's way past time to end the ACLU's existence. It starts first by defunding them from getting our taxpayer money in 1st Amendment cases that result in adverse rulings. The ACLU has been collecting our tax dollars in their suits to remove the 10 Commandments from public display. That has to end. Indiana Congressman John Hostettler's bill HR 2679 is designed to do just that and needs the urging of the rest of the U.S. House to pass it.

Next is to bring massive public awareness to the ACLU's agenda and to pry away their financial supporters, many whom have no idea what their money is going. At the water cooler, the dinner table, the health club, anywhere, talk about the ACLU's radical agenda for America and its assaults on our children. It may not be the most pleasant thing to do but one that is necessary and one that needs to be done for our posterity. And who knows, that person you talk to may be the one who is giving $20 a year in assuming his civil rights are being protected by them. And that person may just know other ACLU supporters and thus a domino effect will occur.

Sure, we may not be able to pry the pornographers, abortionists and Hollywood away but if we can pull hundreds of thousands of their $20 (single) and $35 (married) donors away, the ACLU will have no choice but to seriously think about the impact it faces. And if the ACLU's money dries up, so does their existence. And isn't that what the goal is?

The public advocacy group, the Ad Council, places public service ads in phone books across the U.S. One of them from a group known as The Coalition for America's Children has this to say:

New Jersey judge convicted of child sex crimes, associated with NAMBLA, ACLU's ally against our kids

New Jersey Superior Court Judge Stephen W. Thompson, who traveled to Russia to have sex with a teenage boy, was convicted by a federal jury last week on a charge of sexual exploitation of children. The judge also produced a videotape of sex with a minor and then transported that videotape back to the United States. Judge Thompson is associated with the North American Man Boy Love Association, a group which promotes sexual relations between adult men and children. NAMBLA is currently represented by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).

During the searches, authorities recovered 17 VHS tapes containing child pornography involving images of children engaged in sexually explicit acts, magazines containing child pornography and child erotica; materials associated with the North American Man Boy Love Association (NAMBLA); an 8mm film containing child pornography; various papers containing the age of consent in countries all over the world, as well as in various states in the United States; more than 300 printed images of child pornography and child erotica; and 57 floppy disks containing more than 6,000 thousands of images of child pornography.

Perhaps this judge is an ACLU member since he's already a NAMBLA supporter. Is this proof as to why we need the right judges on our benches today? Who knows if there are more perverts on the bench like former Judge Thompson? I shudder to know the answer.

Thomas More Law Center Defends Partial-Birth Abortion Act In Supreme Court

ANN ARBOR, MI — The Thomas More Law Center, a national public interest law firm based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, has submitted a friend of the court brief with the Supreme Court of the United States supporting Attorney General Alberto Gonzales’s efforts to uphold the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act of 2003. The United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit in Nebraska had previously found the Act to be unconstitutional.
The Act bans the abortion procedure wherein an unborn baby, generally twenty weeks or longer in gestation, is removed from her mother’s womb, except for the head. The doctor punctures the child’s head, sucks out the child’s brains in order to collapse the skull, and then removes the dead child from the mother.

According to Richard Thompson, Chief Counsel of the Law Center, “Partial-birth abortion is a gruesome procedure. It is nothing other than infanticide and must be prohibited in this country.”

In the brief, the Law Center exposes the rhetoric of the pro-abortion movement, which is designed to distract the public and the courts from the reality that each time an abortion is performed, a human life is destroyed. As medical science demonstrates, life begins at the moment of conception, and abortion advocates have tried to blur this reality in an attempt to sedate the public into believing that the atrocity of abortion is acceptable.

How can a civilized society even entertain the idea that stabbing a baby in the head and sucking its brains out with a vaccum hose is a right guaranteed by the Constitution? This is just pure murder, as all abortion is, but with more psychotic element to it. How could anyone support this barbaric and cruel act of killing the defensless, most innocent and precious form of life? Well money talks to some organizations.

DON’T BE HOODWINKED BY “ANTI-HATE” BILL S. 1145!

As I spearhead national opposition to “anti-hate” bill S.1145 (The Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2005), I receive input such as this: “I have read S.1145 and don’t find any great conspiracy against free speech.” Or, “My member of Congress says S.1145 merely provides federal assistance to state and Indian tribes in their fight against violent hate crimes.”

Here is a brief guide to understanding S.1145’s hidden yet supremely dangerous agenda.

This bill empowers the federal government to assume control of local hate crimes law enforcement. It establishes unity between federal and local law enforcement, thus creating the beginnings of a “police state.” This enables the Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith, creator of this legislation, to enforce nationally the kind of persecution against Christians which their national executive board member, Philadelphia District Attorney Lynne Abraham, enforced locally against 11 Christians on October 10, 2004. Preaching at a gay pride rally, they were arrested for violation of ADL’s Pennsylvania hate law. Possible penalties: 47 years in prison and $90,000 fines each. Mercifully, the case against them was thrown out by a higher court.

Lynne Abraham had unrestrained power to command her police underlings to arrest the Philadelphia Christians. ADL wants the same federal power to enforce its federal hate crimes agenda against Christians, right-wing talk show hosts, critics of Israel, pro-lifers, anti-war activists, etc., in every town in America.

Federal Takeover of Law Enforcement

Instead of telling us how S.1145 threatens our liberties, the ADL deceptively portrays this bill as a sincere effort by the federal government to respond to a “serious national problem:” violent hate crimes in the states and on Indian reservations.

The real goal of S.1145 is to grant permission to the federal government to control local civil rights law enforcement.

1. Sec.2,4-13 clearly and repeatedly states that occurrence of bias-motivated violence in a state entitles the federal government to override states’ rights in law enforcement, establishing “federal jurisdiction over certain violent crimes motivated by bias.” (12)

2. Sec.7(b)(2)(A), strategically positioned near the end of the bill (just when most readers and members of Congress are yawning) is a tangle of deliberately confusing grammar and legalese terminology. Yet its implications are deadly to the future of states’ rights. It says that the U.S. Attorney General, or his underlings, may pursue hate crimes indictments within states if:

A. States do “not intend to exercise jurisdiction” in prosecuting hate crimes in the way the federal government wants them to. In other words, if a state wants to prosecute all crime according to physical evidence, not “bias motivation,” and reject a federal ADL hate law for their state, then the federal government has the right to swoop in and enforce the federal hate law and its “bias motivation” legal philosophy, whether that state likes it or not. Sec.7(b)(2)(A)

B. If states do not obtain the kind of verdict the federal government wishes in a hate crimes trial, the government also has the right to intervene and violate states’ rights, presumably retrying the case to their satisfaction. Sec.7(b)(2)(D)

This legislation establishes the premise that there exists something called “the federal interest in eradicating bias-motivated violence” -- an interest the government expects to be “vindicated” by the states. Section 7(b)(1)(D). This means that the traditional “ineffective” approach to eliminating hate crimes by prosecuting them according to physical evidence, rather than motivation, no longer satisfies “the federal interest.” Instead, the ADL/federal program to “eradicate hate crimes” means that states must ferret out the “motivation” behind certain crimes and punish it severely with triple penalties. Otherwise, the government implies, “hate” is not eradicated at its most fundamental origins: in the thoughts of violent hate crimes offenders. Thus, the government is inventing a whole new species of criminal prosecution, dedicated to quantifying the “bias” that drives “hate crimes.” This is a task our government has never attempted. A state's lack of cooperation will result in federal invasion.

At present, takeover by S.1145 is in response to violent bias crimes in the states. Yet tomorrow, via enabling legislation and judicial precedents, S.1145’s jurisdiction will be extended to prosecute “verbal violence,” i.e., Biblical condemnation of homosexuality or blame against the Jews for the crucifixion. Such broadening of powers and jurisdiction has always occurred in countries such as Canada who naïvely let hate laws get their foot in the door.

Slippery Legislation

By its obscurity and deceptiveness, ADL has crafted S.1145 to slip like an eel through Congress. This literally happened September 14, 2005 when Amendment 2662 slithered through the House of Representatives in only 45 minutes! But, this eel has fangs. It squirms toward one dark objective: Creation of a vast Orwellian anti-hate bureaucracy and police state with ADL lurking behind the scenes – to seize and silence the politically incorrect anywhere in America.

From a supreme position of power over all federal and local law enforcement, the ADL will be able to enforce its twisted definition that “hate” means bias against federally protected groups, particularly Jews and homosexuals. All Bible-believing Christians will become “haters,” just as D.A. Lynne Abraham viewed them as they preached in the Philadelphia public square last year.

Take a Second Look

So, to all who haven’t seen a conspiracy in S.1145, even after reading it, I say: Read it again more deeply. Consider how that similar ADL/B’nai B’rith legislation has ended free speech in Canada, and European countries. You must see S.1145 for what it is: possibly the most dangerous threat to states’ rights, evangelical Christianity, free speech, and freedom itself which has ever been proposed to Congress.

Although later defeated in conference it passed the Senate on June 15, 2004, 65-33. As happened in the House of Representatives on September 14th, this bill could move through the Senate very rapidly. All members of the Senate, especially Republicans, must hear from you NOW!!!

It appears that although this is still located on the ACLU's web site, the program is indeed disbanded since the ACLU's web site has not been updated since June and the previous director listed on the site, Dick Kurtenbach, is no longer there. To the editor:

"It is time that the American people awake to the true meaning of separation of church and state and our unique relationship to God as a nation," explains Roy Moore. "No longer can we afford to sit quietly by while the ACLU and others take away our right to publicly acknowledge God secured by the First Amendment to the United States-Constitution."

Those are the words of Judge Roy Moore, our infamous judge that stood up to the ACLU. It took courage to stand up to the ACLU the way he did, and it was more than honorable; it was heroic. He spoke for the majority in Alabama over the Ten Commandments in the courtroom. And now, this voice for the people is running for a higher office: governor.

We need to elect him and send a clear message to the ACLU: Stop trampling on our rights to freedom of religion.

Ken Ham: Intelligent Design Not 'Christian' -- but Not a Bad Thing Either

(AgapePress) - The trial continues in Pennsylvania where the ACLU and Americans United for Separation of Church and State are seeking a halt to the teaching of the theory of intelligent design alongside the theory of evolution. They claim the Dover School District is trying to bring religion into the classroom. But the president of Answers in Genesis feels it is necessary to point out that intelligent design is not a Christian movement -- and Christians need to be aware of that, he says.

A leading advocate of intelligent design has testified in the Dover case that some biological systems, like blood clotting, are too complex to have evolved step-by-step. Lehigh University microbiologist Michael Behe says blood would not clot -- and evolving creatures would have died off -- without all of the interconnected parts in place.

Behe, the author of Darwin's Black Box, returns to the witness stand today on behalf of Pennsylvania's Dover Area School District. The district is being sued for telling students that evolution is unproven and that intelligent design offers another explanation for the origins of life. Behe -- a Roman Catholic -- said intelligent design, like the Big Bang, implies a possible Creator of the universe, but is still a scientific rather than a religious theory.

Ken Ham is president of Answers in Genesis, a Kentucky-based ministry that equips Christians to defend the biblical account of creation. Ham says Christians must realize that intelligent design is not the same as creationism. "The intelligent design movement is not a Christian movement," he says. "They're not all about the Bible; they don't tell you who this is 'intelligence' is." And because of that, he is concerned that students who start to believe in an unidentified "intelligence" could easily be "directed to a Muslim god or a Hindu god or a New Age god or whatever."

Ham also urges Christians to understand that the intelligent design movement is not against evolution. "They're not against evolutionary geology, they're not against evolutionary biology or evolutionary astronomy or evolutionary anthropology," he says.

Still, the Answers in Genesis leader says he is encouraged that many school districts are considering teaching intelligent design or creationism alongside the theory of evolution when students are taught about the origin of life. As a result, he says, "more and more people are becoming informed."

The Value of Information
Ham points out that, according to a recent article in the New York Times, knowledge about alternatives to evolution are having an impact -- in secular museums, for example. "They're getting together to try to work out how to combat the creationists," he says.

According to Ham, secular museums are finding more and more visitors are asking questions from a point of knowledge about intelligent design. "They're actually challenging the people who are giving lectures at those museums," he says.

And that is whole point of education, according to the executive director of the Christian Educators Association International. "A well-rounded education should include more than one theory," says Finn Laursen. "A theory is by its very nature conjecture and should not be enshrined as orthodoxy."

And Laursen contends that individuals who are "married" to the theory of evolution are "simply closed to genuine scientific inquiry and disingenuous about their agenda."

"Teaching the controversy [regarding evolution versus intelligent design] is good education," Laursen says, adding that he is "not shocked" to see such groups as the American Civil Liberties Union "opposing academic freedom and promoting censorship." That is why he and his organization are applauding the Dover Area School District for encouraging "critical thinking rather than insist[ing] on reflexive allegiance to a theory."

The ACLU's enthusiasm for death

For Thomas Jefferson and his fellow Founders, three of the most pre-eminent rights were as "self-evident" as they were "unalienable": "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."

But for the American Civil Liberties Union, pretended heir to Jefferson and self-proclaimed protector of our nation's civil rights, it is increasingly and tragically apparent that "one out of three ain't bad" – and even there, they have problems.

For the ACLU, the pursuit of certain select happinesses (and not those of the sort envisioned by the Founders) for a certain select few is worth the sacrifice of virtually any liberty, and worth more than millions of innocent lives.

On matters of life and death, the ACLU has married itself to an agenda that undermines both the rights and defenders of the weak, the vulnerable, the voiceless … the unborn, the aged, the ill – in short, the very types of people the ACLU professes to protect but doesn't.

ACLU attorneys insist that courts and elected leaders have a right to stop elections and constitutional amendments, circumvent the votes and override the will of the people to create same-sex "marriage," but not to save innocent lives. They demand free speech for anyone opposing almost any war but legally throttle any voice raised against partial-birth abortion or in disapproval of certain choices of sexual behavior.

Even with a scorecard, it's becoming increasingly difficult to keep track of which civil liberties the ACLU still favors – or even purports to favor – and which ones it deems expendable.

On abortion, for example, the ACLU couches its aggressive activities (including explicit approval of FACE and tacit assent to RICO, which have been used to severely limit the free speech of peaceful pro-life advocates) as a noble struggle for "reproductive freedom." But it's hard to classify any freedom as "reproductive" that despises unborn children and endorses their savage destruction up to the moment when all but their skull has emerged from the womb. Indeed, it's hard to credit as "freedom" a movement so single-minded in its determination to silence, even punish, so many expressions of alternative viewpoints.

A far-reaching victory for the ACLU's abortion-driven agenda came in 1971 with U.S. v. Vuitch – ironically, a case in which the Supreme Court upheld a law against abortion. Nonetheless, the court ruled that "the mother's life and health" caveat that had long been attached to anti-abortion laws could be expanded to include an expectant mother's psychological well-being. So despite the rightness of the ruling itself, the reasoning behind it led to disaster. Eventually, this definition of "health" was used to say essentially that a woman was legally justified in having her child's life ended if for any reason she felt bothered by the prospect of giving birth to the child.

It was a breathtaking new development. Imagine if murder was legal, so long as the killer could show the victim's continued life would have had a negative impact on the killer's psychological life and health.

The decision paved the way for Roe v. Wade and its terrible and bloody aftermath – but that wasn't enough for the ACLU. Over the last nearly 35 years, in the tradition of Margaret Sanger, they've gone on to assert that abortion might actually be healthier for a mom than carrying a baby to full-term and is certainly cheaper than the costs of raising a child.

The ACLU even goes so far as to celebrate the "courage" of abortion providers. Sponsoring a "National Day of Appreciation for Abortion Providers," the ACLU wrote in 2002, "We must change the climate overall from one where abortion providers are vilified to one where they are honored and upheld as the heroes they are."

There are many emotions one can associate with abortion – fear, desperation, loneliness, sadness, regret, anger, depression. But enthusiasm? How does any organization, in good conscience, celebrate those who, for money, will pith the brain of a healthy, full-term child like you would a frog in a high-school lab experiment? At least PETA is there for the frog.

Yet there's no other way to describe the ACLU attitude toward death. They eagerly endorse euthanasia, as if the tragedy of assisted-suicide were some kind of triumph of the human spirit. They fought gleefully and brutally for the "right" of Terri Schiavo's husband to starve her to death, as if there were some kind of glory in the mortal torture of that most helpless woman.

How can any organization be so vocally committed to happiness and "freedom" but yet be so deeply opposed to recognizing the infinite value of – and the right to – life itself?

Mercifully, that's a question that's begun to plague a growing number of the ACLU's own members. Indeed, unless the group finds a way to embrace the sanctity of life as enthusiastically as it does the sanctity of "rights," more and more people are going to wonder if the ACLU's increasingly predatory agenda is really … viable.

Express yourself -- nude

You can now open a business in Oregon that includes live sex acts as part of your inventory. You might call it "Vinny's Deli and Sex Act Cabaret," or "Miss Sally's Spa and Kama Sutra Emporium." That's because the Oregon Supreme Court recently ruled 5-1 that telling a business it cannot have a live sexual exposition on its premises is a violation of freedom of expression under the Oregon Constitution.

Incredibly, the Oregon Supreme Court believes that state or local governments have no right to limit sexual "expression" in a public place. The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled time and again that authorities do have a right to regulate expression when it collides with public safety or community standards. You can't have sex on your front lawn even though you are "expressing" yourself on private property because that expression would violate a societal norm.

But the Oregon Supreme Court doesn't seem to care about society. That state now has doctor-assisted suicide (being challenged in the U.S. Supreme Court as we speak), some of the nation's most lenient drug laws, including almost total access to medical marijuana (have a headache, forget aspirin, here's a brownie), and now, live sex at a saloon near you.

But don't do any cigarette smoking in that saloon. That's been banned in Oregon, and it's also illegal to pump your own gas. Apparently, smoking and filling up your vehicle are not expressive enough for these dopey judges.

The driving force behind the sex in public deal was, no surprise, the ACLU, which filed a friend-of-the-court brief egging the Oregon judges on. The ACLU is big on expression as long as it doesn't involve singing Christmas carols. Yes, you do have this right: The ACLU is bullish on public displays of sex but bearish on public displays of the baby Jesus.

A person from Lithuania might think this is a humor column, that I must be joking. I'm not. This is exactly what's going on in Oregon and with the ACLU.

I'm not analyzing this from a moral point of view; the live sex act thing isn't all that important in the vast scheme of things. Nevada has legal prostitution in rural areas, and the state has not crumbled. But the perversion of Oregon's state constitution is troubling.

Freedom of expression as defined by the Founding Fathers is a concept subject to time, manner and place limitations. Laws against hate speech, disturbing the peace, public lewdness and scores of other "expressions" are enforced daily in order to impose some order in a nation of 300 million people. The judges in Oregon understand that but don't like it -- so they have decided to erase societal boundaries under the banner of freedom.

This is where the nation is headed under the secular-progressive jihad that is being waged all over America. With apologies to Home Depot, you can do it -- the ACLU can help. It has been said that freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose. But if we lose all standards of behavior, are we really free?

I believe Judge Moore would be a good governor — but, I live in AL and there are some things that the religious base here does I don’t agree with. We need the lottery here, and it’s not that I play, but living on the GA/AL border, I know many people in AL that drive to GA to play the lottery(JO Alabama residents only buy 4.5 per cent of all lottery tickets from Georgia and two per cent from Florida) - why should those funds go to GA’s kids and not stay in AL?? Because in the strict right’s eyes, gambling is a sin.

My response to Jo is not at all meaning to be disrespectful of Jo's right to make such a statement but to just let Jo know why I believe that gambling/lottery is a sin. This is also to Don Siegelman and his supportors.

The first reason is it violates clear principle's in the Word of God.

The Bible is very clear, "He who does not work does not eat." Gambling breeds laziness and addictive behavior that entices and overtakes a person. And let's be honest, most of the people you see in the casinos, at the races and taking bids at the local 711, are not the Donald Trumps of the world. The Donald Trumps are the ones making the big bucks off the little guys, only to keep them coming back with a mirage of instant riches.

Most importantly Christ calls us to be good stewards of our time, our money and our resources. Ultimately everything we have belongs to Him. Throwing those resources away in hopes to freely get more is foolish.

It may appear to be a harmless hobby that could benefit your wallet if you get extremely lucky, but it may come at a much higher price than you initially expect. I will tell you this, "The borrower is a servant to the lender" (Proverbs 22:7). Financial despair will drive a person to desperate measures. That is why gambling addicts have the highest rate of suicide out of every other addict group.

God presents work as the normal way to get the money we need (Eph 4:28; II Thess. 3:12; Prov. 31). When a person cannot work, the second choice is prayer (Phil. 4:6, 19).

God uses money to accomplish important purposes in my life:
a. Meet basic needs (Matt. 6:11; I Tim. 6:8).
b. Build character (Phil 4:10-13)
c. Give direction, by providing or withholding resources.
d. Helping others through me.
e. Show His power by providing miraculously.

Ask: Does gambling accomplish these results? Am I looking to God or to the lottery for my needs?

Greed and covetousness are sin (Ex. 20:18; I Tim. 6:9; Heb 13:5), and these are motives in most gambling.

Proverbs warns of disaster for people who want to get rich quickly (28:20,22).

Wealth that comes easily goes just as easily (Prov. 13:11).

Wealth gained the wrong way breaks up families (Prov. 15:27).

Gambling can be addictive, and even if you don't fall prey to it as a compulsive habit, your example may cause others to be enslaved by it (I Cor. 8:9, 13).

Rencently at work, I had a chance to buy a chance on rifle and really wanted it. I tryed to justify in my mind how I could do this without hurting my witness to fellow workers. God has given me a platform at work to witness. I talked to another Christian I worked with and he said either way you look at it, it is gambling. See my Pastor told me if you are against something you need to go all the way. I am against the lottery and any form of it and this would violate my conscience and hurt my witness so, it was obvious, I could not do it.

There are few matters in life with a greater sleaze factor than the unholy alliance between the gaming industry and government. In fact, state-operated lotteries corrupt government.

Just since the year 2000, Colorado's lottery director resigned under pressure. Minnesota's lottery director committed suicide after scrutiny and tough questions from auditors. Nebraska's lottery head chief was placed on leave during a probe. Oregon's lottery director resigned after an audit showed hundreds of millions of dollars in administrative waste. Florida lottery officials were fired following an investigation revealing they accepted meals and gifts from vendors doing business with the lottery.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution quotes Russ Davidson, the former chief financial officer of the Kentucky lottery, saying, "You're dealing with the dirtiest industry I've ever seen in my 30 years of doing business ...."

Then there's GTECH, the world's largest provider of lottery services and gaming equipment. GTECH serves 80 lotteries in 44 countries. Their track record is one episode after another of crooked dealing.

According to an Associated Press article, over a 16-year period, GTECH was the subject of four federal grand jury investigations that led to jail terms for a company official and a lobbyist.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported GTECH's original bid for the Georgia lottery contract came in 50 percent higher than Automated Wagering's bid. After Georgia lottery president Rebecca Paul told GTECH's James David Smith and other officials that their first bid was too high, GTECH reduced its price and Paul agreed to the deal -- even though GTECH's bid was still the highest bid.

Fortune Magazine once reported that former GTECH CEO Guy Snowden and former national sales manager James David Smith "perfected the backroom art of lottery politics: rewarding political friends, annihilating enemies, and crushing the competition ... while in the process making millions."

David Rainey of the Lawrence Journal-Weekly reported that a former lottery worker in Kansas filed a sexual harassment suit against GTECH, claiming she was ordered to dig up dirt on the deputy director of the Kansas lottery in order to make him susceptible to blackmail during negotiations with the company.

On April 12, 1998, a gambling industry analyst proclaimed GTECH's ethical troubles were a thing of the past. On September 18, 1998, the Dallas Morning News reported that GTECH settled a lawsuit brought by former Texas lottery director Nora Linares in which she alleged GTECH hired her boyfriend to gain leverage over her. Less than two years later, on July 7, 2000, the Austin American Statesman reported that GTECH executives were forced to resign over a number issues, including failure to disclose a computer glitch to their clients that caused erroneous payments in millions of lottery transactions in Texas and Great Britain.

Not only do state-operated lotteries cause government to prey on its own people; not only do they often use deceptive advertising; not only do they put government in competition with legitimate business -- but they are riddled with scandal after scandal.

In a July 1999 letter, Dr. James Dobson of Focus on the Family rightly points out that the gambling industry "pours vast sums into campaign coffers of gambling-friendly politicians." Continuing, he states that "most politicians will dance for anyone who offers them bushels of cash. It's what keeps them in office."

In the same letter, Dobson also notes the most egregious example of "political exploitation occurred when Colorado spent $25,000 on a study to find the best way to get its residents to play the lottery more. They discovered that certain types of people were less likely to play the lottery. Initially, once they were hooked, they remained hooked. Can you imagine state officials contracting with behavioral researchers to figure out how to bilk the citizens who pay their salaries? Something similar occurred in Maryland after officials proposed the state study how to entice people to play the lottery more. As columnist Austin Abercrombie wrote, 'Traditionally, one of the legitimate roles of a republican form of government is to protect its citizens against harm, to promote the general welfare, but state governments seem to be redefining that role to one of how do we separate the sucker from his money?'"

State-operated lotteries produce a stench of moral putrification that reaches the very nostrils of God. I believe God hates lotteries, and so should every God-fearing American's.

No, I see no virtue in state lotteries at all. I agree with Thomas Jefferson, who once said: "In a world which furnishes so many employments which are useful, so many which are amusing, it is our own fault if we ever know what ennui is, or if we are driven to the miserable resources of gaming, which corrupts our dispositions, and teaches us a habit of hostility against all mankind."

This is the letter, I am sending to our two local papers here in Alabama and some others in the state, hoping to attract some people to our cause.

Roy Moore for Governor of Alabama

“It is time that the American people awake to the true meaning of separation of church and state and our unique relationship to God as a Nation,” explains Moore. “No longer can we afford to sit quietly by while the A.C.L.U. and others take away our right to publicly acknowledge God secured by the First Amendment to the United States Constitution.”

Those are the words of Judge Roy Moore, our infamous judge that stood up to the ACLU here in Alabama and it took courage to stand up to the ACLU the way he did and it was more than honorable, it was heroic. He spoke for the majority in Alabama over the ten commandments in the Courtroom. And now this voice for the people is running for a higher office…the governorship. We need to elect him and send a clear message to the ACLU, stop trampling on our rights to freedom of religion.

10/3/05 Our first three Stop the ACLU coordinators are now officially in place. They are:

We have 47 states to go and hope to name 8-10 more state coordinators by the end of October and half the country by the end of the year. We have good candidates (but unconfirmed) in Arizona, Nevada, Washington state, Texas, California, South Carolina, Florida and Ohio. If you live in any of these states or any other state not mentioned and want to be a state coordinator, keep reading.

Keep in mind that we working to counter the ACLU by having state chapters as they have in each state (except the Dakotas where they are merged into one). I am proud that our coordinators have seen the need to stop the ACLU in their states and are carrying the Coalition's mission as their badge of honor.

So where does intelligent design’s biggest advocate, the Discovery Institute, stand in this widely publicized case? For them, the issues are more about free speech than about so-called “separation of church and state.”
“Discovery Institute strongly opposes the ACLU’s effort to make discussions of intelligent design illegal,” Dr. John West, Associate Director of Discovery Institute’s Center for Science and Culture said in a Discovery Institute News release (dated September 30).
In fact, he recognizes the ACLU applying a double-standard in this matter by saying the following:
Apparently the ACLU has come to believe that some ideas are just too dangerous for students and teachers to discuss. On the one hand, it insists that the First Amendment protects a teacher’s right to teach evidence supporting Darwin’s theory. On the other hand, it claims that the same First Amendment forbids teachers from discussing dissenting scientific theories. It looks like the ACLU believes that free speech only applies to one side of the evolution debate.
Regarding the issue of mandatory teaching of intelligent design, West said the Discovery Institute disagrees with efforts to get the government to require the teaching of intelligent design.
The reason for this, as West explained, is that “most teachers currently do not know enough about intelligent design or have sufficient curriculum materials to teach about it accurately and objectively.” (AiG has a similar stand on the mandatory teaching of creation for these same reasons.)
In the Discovery Institute news release (dated September 30), West outlined the approach they recommend: “Rather than require students to learn about intelligent design, what we recommend is that teachers and students study more about Darwinian evolution, not only the evidence that supports the theory, but also scientific criticisms of the theory.”

Christian, it is my belief that any such removal of our religious beliefs does, in fact, affect us all

It could be coming to Alabama so please be aware of this and take action.

The ACLU wants YOUR schools' officials to urge teaching YOUR children about condoms and contraception

In other words, the ACLU doesn't want your children to be taught about abstinence. Their press release says abstinence is dangerous, unsafe and should be kept out of the classroom. Yet the ACLU says over 9 million kids between 15 & 24 have an STD and over 800,000 15-19 year olds get pregnant. Why is that? I'll leave it to you, my friends and supporters, to draw your own conclusions.

If you are a common sense individual, you can figure out the ACLU's monstrous stupidity. Abstinence, as Rush Limbaugh says, works every time it's tried. It causes ZERO pregnancies and creates ZERO sexually transmitted diseases. It saves billions of dollars in health care services and medical treatments, a chunk of that is YOUR tax money being redistributed by your U.S. government. It helps keep people out of the welfare system. And with no sexually transmitted diseases, you have more healthy families.

In reality, the ACLU wants YOUR children to become sexually promiscuous, hence the statement "evidence shows that teaching teens ......the importance of effective contraceptive use.......increases condom use among sexually active teens."

Personally, I believe schools should not be in the business of teaching any sex education apart from science. That should come at home. However, if schools are to teach sex education, abstinence is obviously the way to go. Societies and families benefit from non-promiscuous and non-pregnant teens. If condom use is to be taught, however, it should be in the home. Parents, not schools, must be responsible for the upbringing of their children.

Condoms are known to have a high rate of failure. However, I will not delve into that here as there are other good sites like Concerned Women for America, Human Life International and Blessed Cause that have statistics on it. The ACLU doesn't want you to know this info.

If the ACLU knows condoms have a high failure rate and they encourage the use of them and contraceptives, there are a couple conclusions to draw. One of them is likely because the ACLU wants your daughters to get pregnant. And if your daughter is pregnant and in a public school hostile to traditional values, your school's nurses and administrators likely won't notify your parents that they will take her to the nearest Planned Parenthood (a staunch ACLU position) to kill your potential grandchild. And since Planned Parenthood gets no money from abstinence, it only makes sense for the ACLU to back this position.

Another reason for the ACLU's strong support of condom use taught in the schools is because it encourages sexual promiscuity. And with sexual promiscuity, the ACLU will used their friends in GLSEN to encourage those inclined to do so to "come out", thus furthering the homosexual agenda. And if school officials reject the homosexual agenda and the likes of GLSEN, the ACLU will be called on to intervene. And if such results in a lawsuit, the school might have to pay the ACLU your tax dollars to settle.

TAKE ACTION NOW

Two things you need to do. First of all, phone, fax or write your children's school principals and superintendent (especially if they are in high or junior high school and one of the states listed above - most of those states are ones where the ACLU is especially aggressive with its far left positions). Ask if they have received a letter from the ACLU and if so, what their position is regarding the ACLU's position. If the school is planning to teach in favor of the ACLU's positions, tell officials you want your child opted out. If you write or fax your school and don't get a response within 2 or 3 days or if your school refuses to allow him or her to be excluded from such teaching, seek legal advice.

Secondly, write your ACLU's state office (or fax if they list one) and tell them in no uncertain terms of your opposition to their agenda and their undermining of their parental authority. And get others to do so as well. The addresses are listed on the "Hall of Shame" page(http://stoptheaclu.org/wst_page10.html).

It's unlikely you will get a response to your letters and faxes (you likely won't reach a live person if you call and any e-mails will likely be deleted) but it's important to stand up for your rights and against the ACLU's kookball agenda.

Abstaining from Common Sense
The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) last week launched a campaign in 18 states to urge government and school board officials to reject federally funded abstinence-only sex education programs in schools, claiming the programs contain false information. The ACLU is basing its attacks on a heavily biased and mistake-laden report released last December by Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA).
As we reported when the Waxman Report was released, the "study" contained information that was deadly wrong. The Waxman Report states that condom use is 97 percent effective. This figure is dangerous to our nation's youth and women. There are sexually transmitted diseases that condoms do not prevent, including the human papilloma virus, the leading cause of cervical cancer.
The states targeted by the ACLU are Alaska, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, and Wyoming. Last week Maine, succumbing to pressure from liberal groups, became the third state in the country, behind California and Pennsylvania, to reject federal funds for abstinence-only education. If these states are truly concerned about the health of America's youth, they will support abstinence programs that provide tools for healthy choices.

Dear Friends:

Do you feel like you want to do more than just sign a petition or give money to stop the ACLU? If so, I want you to consider joining the fastest growing Internet grassroots effort solely committed to ending the 85 year reign of the domestic legal terror of the ACLU. Of course, we need your donations and for you to complete and return our petition. But if you want to actually do something to advance the coalition and literally put a dent in the ACLU's extreme far left agenda, then I want you aboard.

Currently, I am seeking individuals who want to be state and county Stop the ACLU coordinators as well as people who are simply willing to mail our form letter to churches and organizations across America that may be willing to join our efforts. If you simply want to mail our letters (perfect for those with time constraints or who have limited mobility), then read my appeal on my home page and then contact me and I will give you everything you need to get you started.

However, if you want to be a coordinator for the coalition, either for the entire state or just your county, I want to hear from you.

As you may know, the ACLU has offices in all 50 states (except for South Dakota which is located in North Dakota), along with their headquarters in New York and Washington, D.C. They have a seemingly unlimited amount of money at their hands and roughly 400,000 members and supporters. It goes without saying that to compete at that level, we need to build a massive database of Stop the ACLU members and supporters. Like the ACLU's executive directors responsible for their states, we need a head person in each state to observe and counter, when applicable, ACLU efforts in those states. Therefore, we need a state coordinator of each of the 50 states (except in California and Texas where we want two for each). We tentatively have 10-12 coordinators lined up. We need to secure the tentatives and locate personnel committed to overseeing efforts in the remaining states.
And whereas the ACLU has local chapters in many states, we want to eventually get coordinators for each county in America. County coordinators will be responsible for promoting the Stop the ACLU Coalition in their counties while state coordinators will oversee county coordinators as well as promoting the Coaltion. It will obviously take some time to get county coordinators lined up but it is essential we do so if we are to have a strong counterpresence to the ACLU.

State coordinators will be responsible for the following tasks:

Mailing a monthly minimum of 20 Stop the ACLU letters to churches and patriotic groups in their county (state coordinators are county coordinators for the county they reside).
Recruiting county coordinators. The Coalition will certainly assist coordinators in finding such qualified personnel in the counties in their states but state coordinators must make reasonable efforts to locate such as well. However, there is no timetable for completion. We want the right people involved. We'll take as much time as we need.
Periodically contacting conservative, pro-family and Christian radio and TV stations in their state (via e-mail, snail mail or fax) to share the Stop the ACLU web site and encourage them to contact the Stop the ACLU director for an interview.
Periodically writing letters to newspapers in the state about the truth of the ACLU.
Weekly visiting the state's ACLU web site (including chapters, if applicable) to be familiar with what the ACLU is doing in those states and notifying the director of any rally or event they may be sponsoring or participating in or of any important legislation the state's ACLU is supporting (or opposing) that could be considered detrimental to the state or the nation.
Notifying county coordinators to recruit people for a counter rally protest in the event of an ACLU rally.
Seeking sources to get our message out such as billboards, radio or newspaper ads.
Promote and recruit individuals willing to participate in the one million person march on ACLU offices across the U.S.
Looking to set up public forums (the ACLU does this) to explain what we are all about as well as what the ACLU is all about.
Compiling brief monthly reports, basically a summary of your actions for each month. Such will include: how many letters mailed, media sources contacted, people contacted to be county coordinators, etc.

County coordinators will be responsible for the following tasks:

Mailing a monthly minimum of 20 Stop the ACLU letters to churches in your county.
Recruiting individuals to help assist in mailing our letters
Periodically writing letters to newspapers in the state about the truth of the ACLU
Assist state coordinators in recruiting people for your state's march and when there is a need for a counter rally protest.
Sharing this site with as many people as possible and educating them as to the true agenda of the ACLU.

Requirements for being a county or state coordinator simply include a willingness to follow instructions. County coordinators should put in 6-8 hours a month to do the aforementioned activities. A state coordinator should put in 12-15 hours a month and meet the following essentials:

Full support and agreement with the mission of the Coalition as found in the About page. United we stand, divided we fall.
Ability and openness to work with people of all types
Willingness to follow directions as requested by the director
Experience in managing large groups of people or coordinating major events is very helpful but not absolutely necessary if there is a strong passion to carry out the goals of the Coalition
A good working knowledge of the ACLU's positions and actions on issues

However, if you want to get involved with us and don't have the time or ability to be a coordinator but are willing to mail our letters to churches and other organizations, we still welcome your participation.

You may or may not know that the ACLU visits college campuses across America to recruit young impressionable minds to their evil agenda. While our future goal is to counter that by bringing Stop the ACLU volunteers and staff aboard these schools, our immediate goal is to recruit where we the ACLU will largely not go due to their agenda. And that is in our houses of worship.

In our letter, there is no asking of money but to simply go to the Stop the ACLU web site and educate themselves. All you have to do is copy and print the letter we send you on your printer or from a print shop, address envelopes, affix postage and mail them. That's it. No cold calling and no follow up. That is my job. And I will provide you a web link where you can locate these churches. You can use your phone book as well.

Many churches across America have been silent on moral issues that have the potential to affect them. But with recent lobbying efforts by the ACLU (thus far unsuccessful) in states like Illinois and Oregon to prevent churches from denying employment to homosexuals, transsexuals and cross dressers, this issue is now at their doorstep. The timing to get them involved is now. This is certainly not the only issue churches must deal with in our culture but it is one of concern since it involves the state and the ACLU dictating church policy. The ACLU cannot compel churches to support abortion or pornography but they can thru litigation and legislation hire or prevent from firing certain individuals thru sexual orientation laws.

And in California, despite assurances to the contrary, there is a fear that pastors might be compelled to marry same sex couples or face litigation from the ACLU. The ACLU's presence is very heavy in the Golden State where same sex marriage has passed the legislature (with the ACLU's approval) and as of 9/7 awaits the governor's signature.

We already have roughly 60 people thus far who have committed to send 20-50 letters a month. I would like to expand that to 100 by September. Are you interested? I will send you the exact instructions as to what to do. It's not hard and doesn't take much of your time. There is no limit to how few or many letters you can send, however, we would like to see each volunteer do at least 20 a month. We cannot reimburse you at this time but we will do so as funds become available. Sending 20-50 letters will cost between $10 and $25 monthly. You need not be overly religious to help in this effort. While this site caters to large segments of the religious community, this is not an inherently religious web site. We are here to resist and counter the ACLU's agenda, whether it be on the moral front or national security, illegal immigration or anything else. We are united on any issue whereby the ACLU serves to undermine America's values.
100 people monthly sending 50 letters = 5000 churches a month. Assuming 10% of them view the web site and see the need to be a part of the coalition, that's 500 churches. And with referrals inside and outside the congregations, the numbers of people who may come on board are potentionally staggering.

The ACLU claims 400,000 members. Our goal - 1 million Stop the ACLU members. Will you help us achieve our goal? With your help, we can build massive public awareness of the ACLU's agenda and put the fear of God in them. Let's do it today!

And as always, we need individuals to research the Internet for ACLU affiliated lawyers and for organizations, groups, corporations and companies who either donate to the ACLU or benefit from them in some way. It is our goal to boycott all such individuals and groups from ever getting one dime. We will post such on the web site's Hall of Shame page once we obtain the names of such. You need not contact me for permission to do this. Just do Internet searches on your favorite search engine (Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc.), gather the information and send it to me.

And everyone knows someone who needs to be educated on the ACLU. Please share it with them and have them come aboard.

Keep in mind that with the ACLU's near unlimited war chest, we need your help to even remotely compete with them. We are setting up the Stop the ACLU store to be fully ready to go sometime in September. Your purchases of our great items that will soon be available will help us greatly. It is the position of the director that no one person bears the brunt of the expenses of the Stop the ACLU Coalition. Although we certainly welcome and encourage those who have the means to do so to support our cause in a large way, we would be fully content if everyone who visits this site would be part of the Stop the ACLU 5 & 10 program. I call this "Walmart Fundraising". What that basically is about is this. If everyone reading this message and everyone in the Stop the ACLU database would simply contribute $5 or $10 a month or one time gifts of $50 or $100 yearly, we could get an incredible amount of work done, including setting up an office staff, having a tangible headquarters (we are opening a small satellite office in suburban St. Louis in late September or early October), getting computer and office equipment we need to run a full scale operation and much more.

I am keenly aware of the exorbitant gas prices and taxes we are paying as Americans. We must demand our lawmakers explore drilling in Alaska and other places in the U.S. so we could pay much less at the pump and not rely on foreign oil. We must demand that our current tax system be gutted and replaced. I encourage you to contact Congress to that effect.

The U.S. House of Representatives passes hate crime legislated, supported by the ACLU!

9/16 In past years when Congress took up hate crimes legislation, the Senate would pass it while the House would either reject it or if part of another bill, strip this provision before passage. Unfortunately, the House passed this amendment as part of a measure known as the Child Safety Act, an amendment that has nothing to do with the nature of the bill.

What is more troubling is that this amendment was supported by the ACLU, in their words, for the first time. And now it looks as though the Senate will likely follow thru as they did in the past. The amendment would provide enhanced penalties in crimes that were judged to have occurred on the basis of who the victim may have had sex with. It is unAmerican and must be stopped now.

Supporters, please write or fax your U.S. Senators and demand that they reject this amendment. Do not e-mail them as it is likely to be ineffective since many lawmakers don't read their e-mail or simply deleted. Calls are good but written correspondence is preferred since calls can be easily ignored. Faxes would be the best method since mail delivery to Washington is not always reliable, partly due to the previous anthrax scares and the delayed mail processes.

We do not have a Cap Wiz yet activated whereby you can easily contact your lawmakers thru a special format, however, we do anticipate having one up soon. In the meantime, you may contact them thru either the box further down or by going to the Capital Contacts page of the Washington Times and following the steps under "Elected Officials" to locate their phone and fax numbers. Bookmark that page for frequent reference. It is well worth it. And again, if you have a fax, please use it to contact the U.S. Senate today. Time is of the essence.

The ACLU is already pushing hard to get the homosexual agenda in schools, the work place and pretty much anywhere it can. Sadly, Congress has seen to agree with the ACLU in at least this respect. They must be stopped. Let your lawmakers know your feelings and please join us in our efforts to thwart the ACLU. Thank you.
